Hi everyone..

Just this recent i decided to go for big batch for one of my ADV juice.

Commonly,i will brew 30ml x 5 at once.BUT i think if i can manage to make it 200ml at once would save me more time so then i can watch more movies and enjoy video games even meaningful:)

But unfortunately,every batch that i did,espcially 100ml+ up to a litre doesnt ended up like what i expected. Ratio : 60pg 40vg 23.5% flavoring (TPA + E-liq 'usa')

Few things that i noticed obviously :
- less darker than my 30ml batch even after 2 weeks.
- lost the tastefulness n missing certain note on certain flavor (even for Dominant flavor)
- smell different from 30ml batch
- produce more than 30ml batch in different time frame but remained good taste on every single batch.

Some of 'precaution' measure that i did to prevent this 'inconsistence'.
-new syringe
-new glass bottle
-steeping (2 weeks)
-breathing 4 hours (4 hours max for 30ml)

Im looking for solution and since i have a small vaping group,i do not want to handcrafted 30ml at a time and spend to much time brewing :(

Any suggestion n help is highly appreciate.
I know there must b a few similar thread in ecf rgarding this matter but really sorry,i cant really get the clue from any of those to be compared in my senario.

Someone else will certainly chime in I'm sure - I can only say I had the same experience but my issue is - I love my juice fresh. That's how I learned and that's what I want to taste. I have no patience for letting it sit for weeks on end. When I did do this - thinking it would make my juices taste better - I needed up not liking it at all - so I had to drop some Koolada in so I would vape it or passed it on to a friend who is like Mikey - she will vape anything as long as it's free! :)

I only make 100mls at a time and have that vaped up inside of 2 week cept for about 10mls or so in the bottom - I use that to "steep" up the next batch...I pour the freshly made right on top and shake.

Unconventional, yes. I like it though.

First, you DO need to check that you did the recipe properly - did you just "scale up" allowing for a math error, or did you recreate the same recipe with a calculator?

Second, steeping 100 mls in a big bottle can take more than 3 times as long as steeping 30 ml bottles. I've heard this several places, and my personal theory is that steeping relies somewhat on exposure to air - your "open bottle time" suggests you might agree. Consider the effect of the SURFACE AREA - you have about the same surface area exposed to air as you do with 30 mls - but 4 times the volume. So what I do is shake the bottle and open the top (just to "breathe" for a minute) every few days. And I mix juice I don't need for about a month.

I make 110 mls in a 120 ml bottle (so there's some air for mixing). And I've got my first larger batch steeping now - reusing a 250 ml bottle some nic came in.

Ill reply other earlier replies from u guys once i finish with my work..just attached a few picture for your reference.

Judging from the colour chnges over the 1L and 30ml,u cant really see the different.the 1L looks smilar when they were in 1L volume but tells different story when i sperated it into 30ml..will attach the 1L in 30ml when im free.

The 30ml attached (with arrow)is the one that remained good taste even after a month..maintained good form, taste n throat hit..even the smell too.

I'm no scientist, but it looks like the larger the batch, the lighter the color. That indicates to me that it might be a steeping issue. Larger batches really do take a LOT longer to steep. Even some of my recipes that were ready after a couple of hours in 30 ml batches can take up to 2 weeks in 100 ml batches.

That is definitely food for thought. I mix 30ml max, but I was thinking of doing these two recipes that I've been using a lot in 100+ml batches. I do have two 60ml bottles I just ordered with other bottles. Would 60ml be that long of a wait?

I've seen some folks here "emulsifying" their juices with an emersion blender. It creates a TON of tiny air bubbles in the mix. They claim it works wonders to reduce steeping times. I haven't tried it yet, but I have a decent modicum of patience and can usually wait. There's also seed steeping and heat steeping techniques. I've been using seed steeping with a good deal of success.

@Hans Wermhat
This isnt my first time making larger batch on my recipe..BUT, i never make any creamy recipe in large batch before, yet, this is consider as first time on creamy flavor.

So far that i concern,i never had any issue with my previous fruity batch.

Ive read somewhere that most of fruity flavor does not really require steeping and even if they do,mayb just for a short time. Unlike creamy flavor which is more delicate.

Considering the size that i made,i will try to steep it longer and see how it goes. Ill keep u the update. Thank u for your the reply.

I used e-juice lab apps to do the calculation. I guess, they were made to simplify our math by multiplying the quantity that we plan to create.OR mayb i was wrong?

I will normally try to minimze the 'error' (avoiding odd decimal point, prefer rounded number).

Airing the juice by opening the cap after a vigorous shake:p for a few minute, then recap and let it steep..i do it atleast once in a day..is that enuf for the volume that i made? Im a bit hesitate to let the cap off for too long, afraid that i will lose the taste..as u mentiond in your reply, the SURFACE AREA not just double, but mayb times 10-15 the 30ml bottle.

If you used the exact same ingredients and methods than i can't see this happening . I believe it happened but there must of been some variation in what you did even if you can't remember it exactly.

I don't see how it could happen any other way .

Ive tried to double check my number of drops for an ml. So far all flavor equals to 4 drops/ml. (PET bottle)

For the 30ml batch,i prefer to use drop/drip from bottle method except the PG and VG using syringe.

For big batch,i use 100% syringe.

Pic attached is when i drop 100drops = 2.5ml

Im also in a big confuse until now..:?:

That could be a problem if your calculations are getting (100drops = 2.5ml)

If i use drops (sometimes ) 2.5 ml = 50 drops not 100. I use the same glass eye type dropper so all drops are essentially the same size.

Sorry..i mean 4drops for 0.1ml so 40drops for 1ml.

The glass dropper bottle is only for my final product or i can say i just brew directly into this glass bottle. While brewing,i use plastic PET 30ml bottle( all flavoring in this PET bottle) with quite a small tip.

Maybe you are referring to glass dripper bottle for the value you stated in your last reply @herb ?

For the plastic 30ml PET bottle, ive tried couple of time and still getting 40 drops /ml.

I still try to figure it out what happen to my 1L and 200ml batch:unsure:
