I only use light colored eliquid so I gotta take your word on that one. I think tank cartos are very easy, very consistent and mostly hassle free in comparison to all the issues I read people have with cleros. And then there is that airy draw with clearos that really turns me off.

Never had a leak or gurgle using a cheap clearo CE4 or CE 5 ever!...least not in 7 months, at least, since I started...neither has my son or his GF...but have had a few T3S's and MTS3's leak and also gurgle when they got a lil low and then a got mouthful of nicotine....I'll use them CE4's and CE 5's forever...and I've bought them from many US sites, China sites, and brick and mortar shops..

I am a dedicated user of Nano Clearos, both 808 and 510. At $2.00 a piece, you can't beat the price, better than whistling in the dark with cartos. Some advice:

If it gets gurgly, take it off the battery, and blow it out from the battery end. When refilling, put the tip between the same fingers that are holding the clearo, and don't waste a second. With a virgin, let it sit for an hour before using. If you follow that simple advice, you will find that Nanos are easier to use than CE's

Do not wash them. Dedicate one to each flavor. If you really want to re-purpose one, like when boosting a juice to favored status, dump what is left, give it one quick rinse in water, then refill with unflavored. Vape until all you can taste is the vg. Then refill so that the antibacterial action of the pg will protect it from going bad.

Never use a dark juice in a Nano. It WILL die quickly. Use something else, or toss it if it does not go to favored status immediately.

Just put 20 drops of eliquid in the carto, spin it around a couple of times, put it in the tank, fill tank, wait a few minutes and vape hassle free for the next 7 - 14 days.

I've watched several tutorials that showed filling the carto 5 drops at a time, rotate, then 5 more drops, do this until the filler is saturated, then install in tank, fill the tank, then primer puff a few times until you see bubbles... Just seemed like a hassle.

Then I saw the condom method used also and... just continued on with clearos.

Your method sounds quick and easy. I may give it a shot.

i've been positive too early, my third clearo gave up on me. No throat hit all day and now it does not produce any taste and not much vape. I'll try to clean this one out but i am ready to give up on this type of clearo

could it be gunk in the airtube ?
