Exactly how would a stronger spring increase the throw? How do you know it's not a magnetic switch when you don't know what mod it is?

To expand on @greek mule ’s post, the biggest difference between one mech and another is often the switch. There are many many different designs. Without knowing which mech you have there is no way to tell what is even going on.

No Clue what Mech or type of Switch you have?

But it will probably involve Shimming something. Or Sanding/Filling something down to make it Shorter.

I don't think OP want a shorter throw, as that wouldn't make it stiffer of a push... Shorter throw would probably be less stiff.
