I've have some questions that I hope OG users can answer for me. I'm interested in the 3.5v mod. Can it run a 2.0 ohms atty? What will I need for a battery? The horn button is the on/off switch not the fire button?

Want take the BF plunge so trying to figure out what I'll to get. So what sites would folks recommend for supplies for a BF newbie? Right now I only have 808 cartos and clearos so high and low end supply tips would be helpful. I don't want to burn something nice out while I learn. :)

Or is there another place I should be asking these questions?

Hi I can try to answer some of this for you, ok they would be a 3.7 unregulated, which means as the battery power drops the volts you are vaping will drop, and yes it can handle 2.0 ohm or even 1.7 ohms atty.

The Old Goat used a 14500 protected battery not sure on the IMR's fitting it properly as some of them are shorter/longer.

The horn button is the fire button, just he has two types of fire button I do know he suggested to me to get the horn.

It does have the 510 connection, and what I did as the crisco atty you hear them talk about isn't cheap, I bought a $3 lr atty on the reo mods site.

I've found that the red AW IMR 14500 batteries are a little short for the Old Goat. It fires just fine, but when you squonk the bottle, it often nudges battery out of place and you have to open it up and manually reposition it, which is a slight pain. Now I use protected Trustfire 14500 900 mAh's and they work great.

I've used a variety of low-resistance atomizers including Cisco 306's as well as other 306's and 510's on mine and they all work like charm!

Thanks Tez and Nancy for taking the time to answer my questions.

A few more questions. I'm trying to get supplies that could be used with other BF's. If i get some red AW IMR 14500's could I fix the problem of the battery moving by taking a piece of plastic and wedging it between the battery and the wall of the case? Can I use a 801 to 510 adapter so that I can use 808 carts? And lastly for now :) how low can the juice get before upright sqaunking doesn't work anymore?

And as long as we're inundating all you helpful folks with questions, the LR attys on the ReoMods website are Smoktech - they'll work OK with any bottom feeder?

I have a Vmod 2.0 and hopefully will be getting an Old Goat soon...

yes the lr attys both the smoktech and the other ones on the reo site do work, I have the other one, and a friend of mine used their smoktech on his reo.

I don't see why wedging some plastic in there wouldn't work with those AW IMRs I can squonk almost every last drop out of the bottle. At most there will be a small amount of juice left in the bottom, maybe a couple of millimeters deep. The tube goes all the way down to the bottom of the bottle and then some. A helpful tip is to get an X-Acto knife and cut a tiny bit of the bottom of the tube off at a 45 degree angle to ensure that a vacuum won't form against the bottom of the bottle and maximize your squonking capabilities! :)

You might be able to use an adapter, but not a sealed one, as remember with a bottom feeder the needle comes up through the bottom hole of a atty or carto, which is why ones like the phoenix rebuildable doesn't work without being modded

In terms of rebuildables, I have only come across two that don't have a sealed bottom connection, and would therefore work on an Old Goat. The Mark Bugs Chalice (very hard to come by and it would seem silly to put an atomizer on the Old Goat that costs 5-10 times what the Old Goat itself costs), and the Empire Mods A7, which appears to be fairly similar to the Phoenix. I have an A7 on the way and will report back after I've tried it out on the Goat.

Yes the a7 will work on a bottom feeder, I have read where it even fits in the drip cup on a reo grand, but the person wasn't thrilled with it, I have to wonder how much of that was due to lack of knowing how to coil?

Yeah, despite the current craze, rebuildables aren't for everyone. I've noticed that there have been a lot of them showing up in the classifieds lately. Unless there's an issue with the draw, it's pretty much all in the coil.

and even the draw can be corrected either via, making the hole bigger, or with tape

Hey Tez!
Glad to see you here!

Here's my main concern with the rebuildables on my bottom feeder - the size. See pic - it's a Reo Grand with an A7. The RBA is huge! It's half again the length of the PV. I need to be able to carry my PV in my pocket, so while the A7 might be fine for at home, for out and about it wouldn't work for me.
If size isn't an issue for you, it may work great!

Let us know how it does for you...
