About 3 years ago I bought an ecig. it was the njoy. It helped me for a little while, but wasn't even close to strong enough for me so I went back to smoking a pack to a pack and a half a day of marb reds. Now I've switched to american spirits in the blue pack and smoke a little less. I've been researching the 6volt mods and think its possible that they could work for me. I understand that theres no substitute for a real smoke, but it looks like there's been some advancements since I bought the njoy and think that these 6v dripping mods might be the best choice for me. I want to get the mod that has the best throat hit and the most vapor. I've been hearing a lot about the silver bullet. Is that the best one?

I smoked about 15 blue American Spirits a day when I finally started vaping. To be sure that my investment wouldn't be wasted, I went all out and started with a 3.7V/6V mod, bought a bunch of different juice flavors at 24mg and a selection of atomizers for direct dripping. It worked.

I eventually settled on 3.7V with 1.5 ohm atomizers. 6V was good but my mod used CR2s and they just aren't very appropriate for the application. My favorite for flavor and vapor became Cisco LR306 (1.5 ohm) atomizers with the Cannon drip tip from Cherry Vape. That took a couple months of experimentation for me to figure out. I've tried CE2s but they lack the flavor and punch I desire.

I can't speak to the silver bullet, but a lot of people like it and I don't think it's a bad choice. I can highly recommend a high powered vape experience (something around 9-11 watts) for quitting the smokes. I had zero desire to smoke cigarettes once I started vaping and I'd struggled to quit for a couple years. I now vape 12/18mg and the occasional 24mg. I'm trying to work my way down in nic, the throat hit is the only thing I really miss but I do like my TH.

With voltage, just because 3.7V is good, it doesn't mean that 6V will be better. Most people that use a VV, vape at around 4.5V. So, even though they can go higher, they choose not to. An njoy isn't much of a device as these things go. I suspect that the problem you had with it is the voltage falling off pretty quickly. That's MAH, not voltage. An ego would be a lot better choice. Though I would prefer a generic battery myself. Something like an epower or even a roughstack.

I use 3.7 Rivas with a 1.7-2.0 ohm carto(don't care for dripping) myself but will probably move up at some point...from what I have read, the SB is an excellent device...it seems to me hi voltage vaping, especially above 5v can be a bit tricky to find an atty to work without boiling the juice...it seems there is a sweet spot in the 4.5 to 5 volt range that releases lots of flavor/vapor/throat hit without burning up your juice.........

Honestly you will probably be happy with a 3.7 volt device using a 1.5ohm atomizer or cartomizer. Jumping into 6v isn't good because you don't know if you will like it or not. I would start off on a 3.7v device with low resistance stuff and then move up from there. I find 4.5-5v is what i like best. Sometimes i vape @ 5.5v and sometimes i take it down to 3.7v so it all depends on where you get the best flavor, throat hit, vapor production etc with that particular juice.

Some good advice here. 4.5 volts to 5.0 volts is the vaping "sweet spot" for many who vape. I use the variable volt Darwin and that is the area I stay in even when I use dual coil cartomizers. If I was going to get a fixed volt PV, I would go for what many consider the best one on the market: 5 volt GLV2. It comes with a lifetime warranty.

If you want to consider all the advantages of variable volt, then I would look at the Darwin as it is the easiest one to use and the most technologly advanced:

5 volt GLV2: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Variable volt Darwin: Nhaler

I was a 2 PAD smoker for the better part of 60 years. After switching to vaping this is what I've found.

    I flat don't like 6v vaping.
I can make any voltage between 3.7 and 5v work just fine.
It is more about what you screw on the voltage than it is the voltage it's self.
Everyone has their own sweet spot. Mine is 8 watts +/- 0.3
Here is a simple calculator to use:
    Ohm's Law Calculator
When you find the th, and taste that you like simply type in the voltage you are using, and the resistance of the atty/carto, and the calculator will tell you the wattage. Once you know the wattage that you like, you will find it easy to figure out what resistance atty/carto to screw on whatever voltage you happen to be using.

BTW, I love my Silver Bullet, and I can make it sing whatever song I want at 3.7v, I don't need 6v.
You can also get a 5v bat for the SB, but it is only a 600mAh bat.

Had a silver bullet, loved it but I hated carrying around bottles. I would suggest getting a REO Grand, you can do 1 18650 battery for 3.7v or 2 CR123a batteries for 6v. Plus you don't have to carry around bottles with it as the bottle is inside the mod, just squeeze a little up and vape away. As for the voltage deal, I like a cooler vape and most people probably wouldn't scoff at this but I use a 4.5ohm atty at 3.7v and still get enough tons of vapor and super long lasting attys.

Few people use 6v. It doesn't make it much hotter since you can't use the LR attys and cartos on 6v - they would just pop or singe. The standard attys and cartos become your LR on 6v. I also recommend 3.7v and use Boge 2 ohm cartos and other LR cartos and atomizers.

A heck of a lot of vapers do use 5 volt and variable volt PV's. And LR attys/cartos are only needed because 3.7 volt PV's do not provide warm vapor. If you are using a 5 or 6 or variable volt PV, you don't need LR attys/cartos which do not hold up as well as standard resistence attys/cartos, anyway. Most people who vape like throat hit and warm vapor.

Not suggesting you buy one but I use a Provari. I found my sweet spot at 4.5v with a boge 3ohm cartomizer. You can accomplish almost the same thing with a 1.5-2.0 ohm boge on a 3.7v device and be very happy. The mods that have been mentioned are all nice but I have found, for me at least, that getting above an 8w vape gets a little too hot and burnt. However I know that when you get up that high you have to get higher ohm HR cartos at 4 and above. Lots of choices out there, it's all about preference and what works for you. GL and glad to see you making the switch....again, like a lot of us!! LOL.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up getting the Q2v3 copper from Vapor Alley. Been using it for about a week now. I'm vaping at 3.7v with a lr 306 Atomizer 1.5 oHm. I'm using Johnson's Creek Original smoke Juice which is a 24mg pg base, with a little vg mixed in I think and their Red oak domestic e juice, which is 18mg vg base. I'm pretty satisfied so far. I think I've cut my smoking down by 50%.

Have any of you guys used this mod? If so can you suggest what parts and e juice to use to get Better Throat hit and vapor at 3.7v. My only other option is going up to 6v, since it only does 3.7v, 6v and 7.2v. Also Can anyone suggest a quality brand of 16340 3.0V protected batteries? Starting to think I should have gone with a variable voltage mod, So I could have more options.
