A couple of months ago I gave an Ego setup to a coworker that showed some interest in vaping. I’m not the type to evangelize or try to push someone into something they don’t want to do. So, I just told him to feel free to come to me if he has any questions, and I left it at that. He never did come to me for anything and I occasionally ran into him outside while he was smoking. I wasn’t all that surprised. He’s a fairly hard-core smoker. So, I concluded that vaping wasn’t going to be his thing and I forgot about it.

Then last Friday he comes into my office about some boring business related stuff, and while he was there discussing it he kept glancing over at the Provari sitting on my desk. Unfortunately, it’s a reaction I often get when someone spots my vaping equipment. So, at the end of our discussion, I picked up the Provari, handed it to him and said “This is called a Provari. It’s a high end electronic cigarette. It’s well known for accuracy, durability and great customer service.” I get the standard “Wow, this thing is heavy. It feels pretty solid!” Then he goes on to tell me how the ego I set him up with stopped working after a fall out of his pocket. So, I tell him I’ll email him a link of where he can get a replacement. He responded with the obligatory “Great, thanks.” and off he went.

Honesty, I didn’t think he really had any intentions of ordering a replacement. So, I was a bit surprised when he showed up in my office this morning and asked me to hook him up with the equipment I was using. I pointed out that it’s a bit pricy and there are other possibilities that are a step up from the Ego I gave him. Nope, he’s already sold on the durability Provari and he’s sick and tired of being sick and tired from smoking. He very much wants to start off with the good stuff. So, I set the man up with his Provari, a carto tank from IBTanked, and some menthol juice.

just talked with a long time smoker at work. he is hating analogs and wants to quit. he just started chantix and wants to give it a try. I offered to take him to my local shop and show him how to get started vaping. he is undecided right now, but i think if chantix doesn't work, i will have a convert.

I hand out single ego 650 mAh batteries with a clearo, usb charger and, a 5 ml bottle of juice to my converts that really seem serious about giving it a good try. I do ask that if they decide not to vape, that they return the battery and charger so I can give them to someone else. Haven't had one come back yet and, all I have given them too are still vaping.

Most I get because they come over to visit, want to smoke and know there is no smoking in my house so, attempt to go outside. I hand them an ego with a clear filled with 18mg tobacco flavor and, explain how to use it so they can "smoke" in my house.

Of course that gets them asking about it, why it's okay in here but smoking real cigarettes isn't, where to get stuff, cost and, so on. All but one of those converted within a week. :)

Clearos are cheap, disposable (don't go giving rebuildables for one time use) and, easy for a newcomer to use. my mini kit is good enough to get them going for a few days (usually until their next pay check) and, by then, they know where to shop for what they want, and I will sell them more of my DIY juice if they want it. I don't teach newcomers to DIY - that's up t them to learn if they wish, and, I'm not going to be responsible for them ordering too high a concentration of nic, then making mistakes with it. I do warn them that mixing is chemistry and, if they are not 100% sure they know all the precautions and hazards involved, don't try it.

I also explain that I did get into mixing because my partner is a truck driver that routinely hauls hazardous materials for use in products for human consumption so I have access to all of the safety data on such things.

Seems to happen all the time these days. I've been talking to a neighbor down the street about how great vaping is, and is was always mildly interested. Then I spoke whith him on Saturday, and he told me he was down to about 6 cigs a day.. He was buying and using blu. He is currently between jobs and could not justify $40 for an ego. I gave home one of my 650 kits and some juice. If he likes it, he can pay me $13, and if not, just give it back. :)
Turns out that what tipped him over is that another gentleman in our area died of cancer at 45, leaving his 10 yo behind... Sad way to make a decision, but I'm glad he did anyway.

chantix made me a very angry person. I would never suggest it. I literally felt myself wanting to hurt people! completely NUTS.

Me and another guy at work started vaping simultaneously (unplanned). Not long after, they stopped letting people take smoke breaks, but allowed us to go back into the kitchen to vape. After a few days of jealous stares from twitchy smokers, a few sample puffs, and a little conversation, we have 4 new vapers at work. Now if I could just convince my dad.....

Sometimes it can come down to "first impressions". Im contemplating getting my cousin an X6 because his ego from a blister pack stopped charging and he started on... blue cigs...

only had it a week but at $14 the x6 is a pretty economical choice for a clumsy person ($14.64 X6 1300mAh Variable Voltage Rechargeable Battery for Electronic Cigarette at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping). it took the torture of 2 all day fishing trips banging around in my lower shorts pocket and dropped a dozen times onto concrete.
