INITIAL THOUGHTS:
The packaging for the P60 is similar from what I’ve seen from Innokin in the past. The front of the box has a white background with a nice color picture of the actual device contained inside. The back side of the box has a contents list and company information. There is also a note that this is for sale only in the United States. Near the bottom is a scratch and check authenticity code.
Once the top of the box is removed then the P60 is exposed with the .8 ohm pod installed sitting in a white foam insert. Underneath is the user manual, USB-C charging cord, safety booklet, and spare .4 ohm pod. I was a little surprised to see the spare pod in a plastic envelope after getting used to Innokin using recyclable materials.
The frame of the P60 is made of zinc alloy with leather inserts on the sides. One side has the Coolfire name stamped into the leather side while the opposite side has the Innokin name on the zinc frame. I like that the branding is minimal. As you can see, I received the blue/silver gradient version for my review. It’s my favorite color so I was very glad to have received this version.
The pod cartridge opening has four magnets inside to hold the pod in very securely. The auto draw sensor is in the middle near the top. There are two plated contacts 2/3 of the way down to provide power to the chosen pod. The P60 can be button fired or used as an auto draw. I will say that the auto draw function works best with the airflow closed down some when using it for MTL. I found the operation with RDL spotty at best. I could get it to fire but with the airflow mostly open then I had to draw pretty hard to activate it and was unable to draw that hard for very long so got intermittent operation. Others may get different results. There is a cutout on one side of the pod opening that allows room for the airflow control built into the pod once the pod is installed.
The bottom of the base has a rubber insert to avoid scratching when sitting it on a flat surface. The charging port is located on the bottom of the mod inside the rubber insert so you won’t be standing this one up to charge the 3200mah battery. It is rated for 5V/2A charging rate. The P60 is so thin and lightweight that I had issues with it standing up without falling over. I don’t know if it’s the rubber on the bottom or what but had it tip over a few times when placing it on my workbench.
When the P60 is first received, there is a sticker over the display that explains the button operation. This is nice so you don’t have to dig out the user manual to discover how to operate the device. Like most Innokin devices, you simply need to press the fire button 3X to turn the device on/off. Press the fire button and + button to turn the Auto-Draw on/off. Press the fire button and the – button to clear the puff counter. There is a sliding switch on the opposite side that locks the fire button and adjustment buttons but can still be fired via auto draw.
