Just saw that the innokin Disrupter with TC has been announced by innokin, with an ship date of next week to retailers. Really looking forward to this – have been impressed with the TC on the Coolfire IV, and like the form factor of the Disrupter.

No details on specs, but I would imagine it has the same board/specs as the 75w Coolfire TC 18650.

I think a lot of people will take a wait and see approach to this first venture into TC by innokin. If it's like the Innokin Cortex, the Ikarno S1 board doesn't support SS in TC mode. No updatable firmware or TCR adjustment/presets either. I see those as major deficits in this day and age. Resistance low limit is 0.1 ohm- too high for my favorite Ni200 build (0.07 ohm). At least the Disrupter has a replaceable (although proprietary) battery pack- the Cortex battery pack is built in.

I would imagine it would be the same board as the Coolfire that does support SS. I agree that the lack of TCR/updateable firmware is a con but I actually have not missed the lack of TCR on the Coolfire. Thought I would given that it's something I do use on other mods, but so far every build I've put on it (Ni, Ti and SS) has worked great as-is.

I'm not any sort of expert on Innokin devices but they may do better w/this iteration- IF they can get folks to buy into their proprietary battery and (boring?) rectilinear design. They are claiming 300 recharge cycles, if cheap enough, it might fly. It would seem the 'v2' Innokin TC mods- that use the "Aethon" chip- have in effect made their Cortex w/its Ikarno S1 board obsolete in one fell swoop. I believe the Cortex box mod was stillborn anyway, what with its screen and control buttons on the bottom along w/the aforementioned downsides.

I wonder what the price point will be, and more important the price of those swappable "Innokincells".

No idea, but I'd guess in the $40 to $50 range. The cells have been available for a while and usually run about $11 for the 2000 mAh and a few dollars more for the 3300mAh. But, some vendors have the cells on their clearance section for $7 or so. Picked up a few more from VaporBeast this week to have them on hand for the TC version.

You can also find the 50w Disruptor (the original one that does not TC) on clearance sections. Picked up one from eciggity on their last 30% off sale for $24 (mod plus one cell).

I love the size and form factor of the Coolfire 4 in all of the iterations. To me personally the disruptor looks terrible. It's way too big for the wattage, it's too plain looking and the area around the 510 connector looks like it wasnt made for the device. I dont understand why they couldnt get at least 100 watts out of this design.
