Innokin Itaste 134 issues! PLEASE HELP

I just bought the Itaste 134. It's awesome, but no matter what I use I get a hot, dry gross hit. I have 2 protank minis I tried, I used a pro tank 2 and that didn't work. I've used 1.8, 2.2 and 2.5 coils and it's all the same result. The only time I get anything good is win I use the tank it came with. I believe that one works so well because it has so much more wick to suck up the juice so I don't burn it out. I've got the VV set at 6.5 which is the lowest. I can't get it up to 9 or 10 with the tank it came with without getting the nasty hit? My question is why am I getting the burnt hot hit and what should to do to prevent that? I would like to get a pretty good cloud, but I don't want a burning hot taste in the back of my throat

First, use some kind of ohm checker on your protank heads. My two boxes of replacement coil heads from Kanger were all supposed to be 1.8 ohms. They ranged from 1.1 to 2.9 with not a single one actually reading 1.8.

Also- the burning taste is (I think) from the silica not keeping up as a wick. I have to keep my pro tanks under 9w, or else I have gross burnt taste.

Honestly, the best thing I've done is learn to recoil and rewick the Protanks with cotton. You can fit a 10 wrap micro coil in a protank head that will last much longer and provide a more satisfying vape.
