Here's a preview of the innokin iTaste 134 (
full text preview here). This is the most unique and distinct digital vaping device I've seen in 2013. The looks are cool and striking. That said, my initial impression is that it's definitely not for everyone. The iTaste 134 is easily the largest and heaviest digital mod I've used. As a frequent user of a Silver Bullet with an extension sleeve, I enjoy hefty mods and so far have enjoyed using this one, but can easily see the 134's weight being annoying for many vapers. Another possible issue is that from 7-12 watts, adjustments can only be made in one-watt increments. Check out the full preview for more details.

i was keen but there's no ohm/resistance meter on it- also 1 watt increase increments, silly, should of been able to go up in .05 as well- powerful so its really just a massive more powerful twist!! looks cool though and as excited as i was about it in the beginning, i think i'll pass-

First off, thanks for checking out my preview!

i was keen but there's no ohm/resistance meter on it-

Yes, but this was expected since the early photos never showed an LCD screen.

also 1 watt increase increments, silly, should of been able to go up in .05 as well-

I totally agree (especially as a frequent 8.5-watt vaper!).

powerful so its really just a massive more powerful twist!!

Kind of. For many users, variable-wattage is better than variable-voltage. Plus, when a Twist dies, it's a goner. You can keep popping new 18650s in the iTaste 134.

Why would anyone want a bigger but weaker battery tube, unless it's for exercise purposes?

Chuck, weaponized vaping devices are the new thing. *joke*

I'm going to guess that a lot of the people that buy it will do so because of its looks. It's certainly unique and distinct.

This may not be a good question, but what is the difference between variable wattage and variable voltage? Don't both equal to a stronger vape?

Variable-wattage devices adjust to the resistance of whatever juice delivery system being used. It's basically set it and forget it. With variable-voltage, adjustments have to be made for using different equipment or resistance (ohms) changing. For example, let's say Vaper Jim enjoys vaping at 10 watts. He sets his VW mod for 10 watts and that's the output he gets, whether he's using a 1.7-ohm atomizer or a 3.0-ohm atomizer.

Btw, that was a perfectly good question. :)

All sizzle, no steak! For a reported $159 price tag, you get no voltage setting, no resistance checker, no battery life checker, and from 7 to 12 watts, only 1 watt increments. On top of that, it certainly looks like an uncomfortable hold. Might as well put tail fins on the sucker and call it the Art Deco Mod.

Ugh! What was Innokin thinking of? It is not half the mod the SVD is at a higher price.

Thanks for the preview. After seeing a sneak peak of it in another review I was looking around for this as maybe my first mod. Now, after reading the discussion on VV/VW I must do more research. I am enjoying the VV on my ego twist and not sure if just cool looks would justify this as my first mod.

Thank YOU for watching!

As a first mod, the iTaste 134 isn't the best choice. Not being able to adjust in 0.5-watt increments is the biggest issue for me. As a vaping device, the Innokin iTaste SVD is better. For unique looks and really heavy mod, the iTaste 134 is certainly unique.

As for VV/VW, most people have an easier job with VW mods.

Not trying to bash but I'm really confused why Innokin is putting something like this out. VW only, doesn't telescope, no atty meter and a pretty hefty price tag for something so limited. Just REALLY seems like a step backwards in respect to the SVD (the swiss army knife of PV's). Good thing Innokin can lean on their plethora of great devices to make up for any potential loss they take with the 134.

That part is easy. The company wants something different to round out its product catalog. Whatever shortcomings the 134 have, it's certainly unlike anything else Innokin offers.

VW only, doesn't telescope, no atty meter and a pretty hefty price tag for something so limited.

Totally fair criticisms and they'll be addressed in my review, including some of the responses Innokin had on those criticisms when I asked a company rep about a few of those issues. Some of the responses are somewhat justifiable, but others look like oversights or corner-cuts.

Just REALLY seems like a step backwards in respect to the SVD (the swiss army knife of PV's). Good thing Innokin can lean on their plethora of great devices to make up for any potential loss they take with the 134.

The SVD is indeed a fantastic mod for the price, but I understand that Innokin is trying to diversify with the 134. Will it be a "loss" for the company? I have no idea. I've brought it with me to four different vape shops; several people made the same criticisms you made and several didn't care about them because they were enamored by its looks. It definitely got a lot of attention -- so many people wanted to check it out because it's different and some wanted to buy one just because it's different. There will surely be some vapers that will buy it because it looks like a machine gun or a lightsaber, but I have no idea how many that number will be. More importantly, I have no idea what Innokin's production run will be like. The thing to remember is that the company isn't going to crank out as many of these as they do with the VV 3.0 or SVD. It doesn't necessarily need to hit high numbers with this mod, just high enough to match the production run as closely as possible.

Well, in my opinion, its looks ALMOST make up for the deficiencies in VW, an LCD screen, etc. My best is the eVic, so having that, I can definitely see where the iTaste 134 is lacking. But, I still want one because it looks so cool! (in my opinion) I watched the almost 30min youtube video by PBusario, and he did have quite a lot of good and not so good things to say about this product. Maybe I will ask for one for Christmas lol, cause I just think of all the good Vaping products I could buy for $140.00 (which is the cheapest price I've found for it) If I do get one, I would probably go with the black and stainless as opposed to the all stainless look. Apparently it's design comes from a machine gun where the number "134" comes from lol. Even though it is lacking in several areas for the price and would be great if it could hold the larger battery, I know I will eventually buy one because of its uniqueness and cool look (in my opinion). It would definitely be fun to show off haha. Anyway, maybe in the next few months the price will go down if people are not purchasing it due to its limitations. We'll see-
