Right, so after reading/watching several reviews i decided to order the itaste vv kit from e-juicewizard.com, i chose them because they had the best deal (itaste kit with tank system+ 510 adaptor, carry case, and 10 ml of juice for 79.99 before tax and shipping).

fast forward to today. around noon the mailman buzzes my apt, i walk down an he hands me the package. needless to say, i ran back up to my apartment giddy with joy like a kid on christmas, tore open the package to find my sexy little white itaste just sitting there waiting to be vaped. at first it wasnt firing though so i was a bit worried, but then i plugged in the charger and realized that it was just shipped with the battery discharged, which i found a bit odd but no matter, it charged up fine and i was vaping it about 2 hours later. so i was putting it through its paces, trying out different cartos with the 510 adapter, but mostly using the tank as i've heard it takes the tank atties a little while to break in.

fast forward again to about 2 hours ago. i had just barely broken in the atty after about 12 hours of pretty steady use, but the juice i ordered was still tasting a bit off to me (probably because its a tobacco flavour that ive never tried, but that was my choice because i still havent found a tobacco flavour that i really enjoy so i figured try a new pv, try a new juice, why the hell not right?).Anyway i thought i'd test said juice out in a carto to see if it was just the juice that was funky or if maybe the tank still wasnt fully broken in. So i fill the carto, attach it to the 510 adapter an then drop it in the Itaste. it worked for about 10-15 puffs and then ..... started getting REAL effed in the A.

i took a puff an the button just kept firing untill it hit the ten second cutoff and shut itself down. Now, initially, i thought perhaps the fire button was stuck because it was a bit on the wobbly side to begin with.. but it wasnt stuck at all so i thought "hmmm.. weird glitch... ok ill just turn it back on and it should work right??" WRONG. i did the 3 clciks it turned back on and then FIRED ITSELF untill the cutoff, i wasnt even touching the button and had nothing attached at this point. then all hell broke loose . i had the battery sitting next to me and it would just randomly turn itself off and on like 700 times then it would just fire untill the cutoff, turn off for a few minutes and then repeat the whole crazy cycle, occasionally responding when i was actually pressing the button but rarely, mostly just acting on its own instinct, somehow . Of course while this was going on i immediately started tpying an email to e-juicewizard to let them know about the problem. while i was about halfway through the email the itaste just completely stopped functioning...no lights, wouldnt respond when i pushed the button OR when i plugged in the charger. and i know the battery isnt dead because maybe like a half hour before this started happening i was vaping on it as a passthrough (maybe that has something to do with it?.)

anyway, needless to say, i'm super dissapointed:(, i was looking forward to this mod for a while and now im kinda wishing i ordered an ego twist instead. I'm pretty sure this is just a factory defective model so hopefully my replacement actually works (i havent completely lost faith...yet) if anyone's had a similiar experience with the Itaste let me know if there's any way of fixing this, if not i guess i'm just gonna have to wait another 2 weeks to get a replacement battery. No complaints about e-juicewizard though, they've been very easy to deal with, just shipping from victoria to montreal takes forever :glare:.

Ick, that has got to be a weird dud. I've been thinking of just buying the battery and 510 adapter. From the reviews I've watched and things I've read, no one has any huge problems like this, people are just complaining about the quality, features and functionality.

Did you check the manual for troubleshooting, there might be some fancy button combination to do more of a hard reset. However since it seems to erase everything with the 3 click off, I doubt it does and this sounds like a hardware problem.

Hope your return/exchange goes well.

You can always trust a genuine ego. Sorry for your loss tronny. Always sucks when you get new vape gear and that stuff happens. Hopefully they make right of the situation. GL.

One of my "genuine" egos did the exact same thing as he describes. This just happens sometimes, it really has nothing to do with the brand.

Hopefully the company will do the right thing and replace it, I could never get my so-called genuine replaced.

ive been dealing with Nadine at e-juicewizard and she's been super helpful so definitely no complaints on the vendor front. I just got a dud battery, which is what i figured. i guess, being a mass produced chinese item there's bound to be a few units that slip through the "quality control" :p in a way it's kind of good that it fried after a day rather then like 2 weeks from now. hopefully the new one will last a substansial amount of time, or maybe they can find a way to fix it, the engrish instruction manual doesnt mention anything about this so im thinking i just got a badly wired battery. its strange that it worked properly for like 12 hours before though, i didnt think itaste's were supposed to be disposible e-cigs lol :p

talking back and forth with nadine, she thinks i might have gotten a version one battery by mistake since the light stayed green when it was at a full charge when it was working properly. she said they will replace it for me so ill be sending this one back tomorrow morning hopefully it gets there by wednesday and they can send the replacement out to get to me by the end of the week.

Put the ever so tiniest red(any color) dot on the device some place thats only known to you to make sure it's not 're-set" and sent back to you . Doesn't have to be a dot, can be anything that will set it apart from other's, smallest of mark in some way. Unless you get the replacement Before sending the faulty unit back.
NOT that the vendor is untrustworthy but "mix-up's" do happen.lol
Good luck and sorry for your troubles,Rob.

"re-set" = Banging it on a table a few time's until it starts working again. thats what i would be afraid of.

That definitely sucks, but it can happen regardless of brand or model. Sometimes something just goes south in the manufacturing. As long as EJW will replace it you should have no problem. Innokin will likely reimburse him for the bad unit -- I can say that my own experience with Innokin (with the devices and dealing with their PR/customer service) have been great.

Once you get your replacement I think you'll enjoy it. I still use mine, and will have a couple of their new ones on the way soon to review.

Like Shooter said, I have three of them and I absolutely love them! Have had no issues with them...the only one thing that I think they should remedy is the fact that the 510 magnetic connectors are a bit loose, so when taking a drag on them, you need to place the drip tip against your teeth and tip it a bit so that the magnet makes the connection. No trouble but could be one improvement. In order of preference, would be iTaste at the top, then my Vmax and then my Twist.....Dont give up on the iTaste, I think you just got a faulty one... :)

If you are getting some connectivity problems, you can push the center pin out a little bit from the top end so that it makes a better connection.

Innokin have a couple of new kits they're just releasing that lose the magnetic adapter in favour of dedicated connections -- one standard 510 connection (part of their new dual coil kit) and one raised eGo connection (part of their new Stardust-like clearo kit). I should have those in a week or two to review.

Interesting, i wonder if they're ever going to make more parts that are compatible with the native Itaste magnetic connection. i saw a video where someone from gotvapes was saying how Visions was developing like a square magnetic stardust type device specifically for this, and innokin was wokring on more stuff for the itaste connection as well. but, if theyre coming out with ego and 510 versions now it seems like they just abandoend that idea.

I don't know that they're abandoning the idea so much as just making a few different kits, with these new ones possibly being a little cheaper because of their lack of a magnetic connector.
