Hi Kat...GREAT price!

Capt.shay posted a similar deal in a different thread a couple days ago. My reply:

WOW!!! $9.95...nice find Capt. Before 2 weeks ago I probably would have "loaded up" on 'em.

For the last 2 years the VV V3 + T3S has been my out and about set-up.

But...for the last 2 weeks I've been loving my eGo AIO. This $15 topper/battery combo is about ½ the size of the V3 + T3S, has easy on-the-go Top-Filling, is 1500mAh (vs. the V3's 800mAh) and gives me a GREAT MTL vaping experience!

(I'm actually getting more of the AIO's...to add to my at home Rotation...:headbang: )

..

Gerry, it's a wonderful looking device, and the chatter about it has been superlative. I'm so glad you've found another device that floats that Gerry boat! The price? Amazing. :)

(for me, it's a sort of back burner mod. i like the "v" as in variable.)

I have the innokin MVP2 and VV3. I am thinking of upgrading. How much better are the latest generations of both of these? Any known problems? I've had these two for over two years with no problems, so I'm kind of sold on the quality of their products. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I love my VV3's. You can find then at a few places cheap. If it's something new I would only recommend something with replaceable batteries.

That leaves the Coolfire IV 18650. I don't have one so I can't really recommend it but would pick some up for the right price.

As was mentioned by @garyoa1, the MVPs and VVs are getting hard to find--but not impossible. I believe the MVP 3 and MVP 3 Pro are easier to find than the VV4s.

I cannot compare the vv3 with the vv4, as I never purchased a 4, but I do own two MVP 2's (retired) and both an MVP 3 and an MVP 3 Pro (using mine right now, in fact), so I can give you info on them. The 3 and the Pro are both the same size and similar in weight (measured by hand, not scale). Like their brethren, they are brick-like and are slightly larger than the MVP2. The button has been moved to the narrow side and the charge indicator light has been moved to the top. There is no Ego connection, just a spring-loaded 510. Beyond that, the only difference is that the 3 is something like 3400 mah and runs up to 30w; while the Pro is 4500 mah and fires up to 60w.

I use both the 3 and the Pro in regular rotation with my other mods and they've held up reasonably well. The 3 is over 1 year old, while the Pro is approaching the 1 year mark--and while there appears to be a slight drop in capacity, they still last me at least a day.

If you can find one on the cheap (say, $30 or less), I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another. However, the Coolfire IV's--in a range of firing levels, TC capability, and fixed or removable battery configurations--can be had for anywhere between $30 and $50, so I guess it depends on whether you prefer a fixed, higher capacity battery (MVP 3/Pro) or need more power (the original Coolfire IV starts at 40w with a 2600(?) mah battery, but all other Coolfire IV's have a range of 70+w, with fixed batteries rated at 3300 mah) or TC (fixed or removable battery).

While it doesn't have on-board charge, the CFIV-18650 is, imo, a better choice. August 8 is right around the corner, so mods that take easily sourceable batteries like 18650 are better for the long haul. ALL batteries will eventually reach end of life. If it's built in, not so easy to replace - IF you can find the right lipo pack and have the right skill set.

And it's easy enough to carry a spare, fresh battery, suitably insulated. There are silicone rubber "sleeves" for single cells, not much bigger than the cell is.

I think the closest to the glory days of the ole MVP today is;

the CoolFire IV 18650 - JMO :|

- Innokin Cool fire IV 75W 18650 Temperature Control Express

I won one in a contest. I am quite pleased with it. At least you are in for the long haul since there is no internal battery to finally tire out making the device useless.

I must say I absolute concur with these views. The CF4 -'650 is one VERY sweet device.

Mav, I'll leave your TC question to the others, as I've only tried one coil -- and with SUCH limited experience, zero success at it, and equally limited desire, welp, I just dunno.
