    Hello and welcome to today's review that's very different from what we normally see in a pod system, a removable and rechargeable battery that is 1000mAH. The Trine pod system has a display screen also adjustable airflow by way of 3 slots with the nice feature of top fill. this is not your run of the mill pod system but rather a pod system with some real innovation. After some product information from the manufacturer innokin I'll give you all my findings on this new idea for a pod system.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

    As always innokin is looking out for our planet by making everything in the packaging biodegradable. Packaging is a flip open box with the Trine resting in a cardboard tray that sits above the components that are wrapped in paper in the kit. INNOKIN also sent the optional 1.2Ω pod for testing as well.

    Picking the pod up I was surprised at it's weight because it's pretty lightweight, for some reason I thought it was going to be a heavy pod, ( GLAD IT'S NOT ). Looking it over it looks like the run of the mill pod system having the pod attach to the device magnetically as most do. Remember to remove the shipping safety sticker placed over the pods bottom contacts before using.

    Adjustable side airflow using 3 slots has a good amount of tension so your airflow setting should not move while in a pocket or handbag. I'm happy to report the pods are top fill but sad to report the coils inside them cannot be changed out for new ones when there lifespan is up, pod replacement only. The USB-C charge port is on the other side of the device and stands without falling or laying on it's side while charging

    The top fill method is as most pods use by simply snapping off the mouthpiece which is by the way quite comfortable to use , the outer hole uses a silicone membrane as the fill port . I really like this top fill method because it's so fast and easy to fill a pod with no mess to speak of.

    We now come to to the innovation of this pod system and it's the battery that is rechargeable and also replaceable, kudos to INNOKIN for including a 2nd 1000mAh battery with this kit. Attachment is on the bottom and the battery slips into the device, to remove grasp the 2 battery tabs on each side of the battery and push in and pull out to replace, installing a new battery just push it in and it will click and lock into place.

    The display screen is pretty basic but shows you what you need to know, oddly it's missing a puff counter that for some people doesn't mean a thing but others use them as part of the daily use to keep track of vape usage, it does however have a puff second counter that I find as being useless.

    * Battery Bar

    * Wattage Applied/ Vape Second Counter

    * Ohms Applied

    * Volts Applied

    The menu system is as easy as it gets using just 3 quick presses of the fire button to turn the device on or off and quickly pressing the fire button 2x will bring you to the adjustment of wattage that is done in .05 implements.

    Trying to raise wattage above it's maximum for the coil being user is stopped by way of smart wattage, I was able to raise wattage 1 watt higher than the max and then the round robin feature brought me back to the minimum of 6 watts.

    There is auto draw and button activation and either one used worked fine but another disappointing fact is that the fire button can't be locked to prevent firing while in a pocket and in my case that's a big one because pods are always in my pants pocket and I do a lot of bending at work, luckily I have not had any issues with accidental firing.

    FINAL IMPRESSIONS

    I really like how well the Trine performs and the flavor is good but for me it took almost a pod full of juice before the flavor began to pop using all 3 coils ( just takes a little warming up ).

    The 0.6Ω coil was my favorite followed by the 0.8Ω with the 1.2Ω coming in at 3rd because I like a warm vape, flavor was still there though.

    Airflow is very good and can be tailored nicely for a tight to loose MTL vape, I really don't think the Trine works well as a RDL vape.

    The issue of not having a puff counter doesn't bother me but having no other means of charging the battery except inside the device does because it means you will be down for about 1 hour during charging. I wish the battery itself had a USB-C charge port on it but it's probably to small to do that or Innokin would have. That's my only personal con besides not being able to lock the fire button with the Trine, Everything else is a pro.

    PROS

    * Good Flavor

    * Clear Pod

    * Nice Size

    * Lightweight

    * Attractive

    * Smooth Airflow

    * Adjustable Airflow

    * Comfortable Mouthpiece

    I would like to thank Alisa and INNOKIN for providing the Trine for my review of it and thank you to all of you that read my reviews.

    THANK YOU
