Inserting batteries upside down in wooden mods?

I've read on here that it's a bad idea to insert batteries upside down in mechanical tube mods (so battery with negative end towards atomizer) because if the battery wrapper is torn the battery touches the side of the tube you directly short the battery. But what about reversing the battery in a wooden mod?
There are two wood mods I am looking at and they both require the battery to be inserted with the negative end towards the atomizer. Are there any issues with this?

Ha, when i first got my VTR, my 18650 batteries were to wide to fit in the battery compartment. I dug off the plastic skin and that thin wire that goes inbetween terminals, oh, yea, that wire got hot....

So then the batteries worked in the VTR.

So then I get a mech mod the next week and chuck a deskinned battery in it, lol, it got hot right away!

Stupid Innokin, why make a battery box that don't fit batteries correctly!

end of rant.

More like "stupid customer".

To those people that might be considering doing the above - DON'T DO IT!! You will compromise the integrity of the battery and make it not safe to use.

It's true that the Innokin iTaste VTR has a low tolerance to different battery dimensions. You bought it. Live with it. Research which batteries DO FIT the VTR and use those. Do not attempt to customize or mutilate a lithium ion battery to suit your purpose - you'll only be playing with fire...literally.

End of rant.

Sounds like you took a protected icr and dug out the protection.
