Intercore Intellicharger i2 getting hot?

Hello,
My external 18650 charger seems to get quite hot after a while charging, the batteries themselves just get slightly warm but the charger is really hot, is this a problem or is it normal?
Also it seems to make a very high pitched noise when batteries are not installed in it/when I first install the batteries in it.

The charger should NOT get hot or make any noise. I would stop using it.

Some chargers get damn hot...which is bad and indicative of a design that has compromised safety and long product life for profits. Do not use that charger unless you are nearby and I recommend charging on a non-flammable surface (my standard recommendations for any charging).

I have a two bay intellecharger, it doesn't grow hot when charging. If you can, I would warranty it. Any time heat is occurring during the charging process, (warm is one thing, hot another) I would start to grow concerned.

Did you mean Nitecore Intellicharger? Intercore doesn't bring up anything in a search. I have the Nitecore Intellicharger i4 and although the batteries get a little warm sometimes, the charger stays cool.

My old 2 bay Intellicharger i2 gets to about body temperature, that's after charging 2 new samsung 30Q from empty (3.2V) to full, dusted it off to test.
Seems like yours is on its way out. Is it a new charger or did it see a lot of use already?
