I( will start with an apology if this in not the appropriate place to post this, I hope it is as I really want the opinions of users, hopefully some who have had similar travels in the PV world. You all have certainly piqued my interest on the REO, but I still have newbie reservations.

A little about me: I was a 2 -2.5 PAD smoker for 15 years. The last 5 years were a pretty light cigarette, the first 10 were Lucky Strikes. I have been vaping for about 2.5 months now. I have had the pretty traditional journey, E9 to KR8 to KR8 big batt. I have been vaping about 3-6mls a day mostly in the 11-18 mg range. I am chain vaping whenever possible (I am new after all) and my current PV will go most of the day on a battery charge (carto's about 1/2 the day, they are 2.5 - 3ml cartos.)

I have been lurking around reading about REO's. If you follow my PV progression, everything I have had so far uses carto's. I have stayed away from atty's, I don't know why, but they seem wierd to me. Dripping had NO allure for me, and though I have never done it, seemed to me like a juice waster, getting it all over. I have the same questions with the REO. Isnt there a lot of juice just hanging around the catch cup and in the atty? (sorry for the question but I have zero exp with attys.)

I do not fiddle with things anymore. I spent too many years as a mechanic (including small engines), and really am not interested in living that over with a PV device. I would like a no hassle good vape. I worry about some of the things here such as "grease" and whatnot, but that probably isnt too much of an issue when I think about it. It looks like from the posts I read, such as the stickies above, the maintainence routine looks pretty straight forward (weekly, with filling as needed).

The price of entry here looks pretty steep, but isn't the main factor here making me hesitant to pull the switch. However in the last two months, I have paid the price of entry a couple times.

Based on this, is there anything else you could tell me that would push me over the edge?

Thanks so much, and again if this isn't the proper place to post this I apologize.

This is the right place for this post. We have REO's and all of us have had similar experiences.
I got my first one in March, and now have four.
They are very easy to maintain. The customer service is great. Rob is open to contact and to help with anything that may come up.
The atty thing bothered me also. I had never used one. It took me awhile to get the hang of it. But it is easy to learn.
The REO is sturdy, The Grand is made from aircraft aluminum and can stand up to much abuse. The Mini is also.
I had one guy that was hesitating and I offered to buy his Grand if he didn't like it. No questions asked.
They are top of the line, and stand above other mods.

I've only had my mini for a short while, but can share a few thoughts. I went pretty much the route you did, and in addition, built my own mod. I even tried dripping (the best flavor of all, but a hassle carrying around a bottle of juice). I also have a Go-Go for a "no maintenance" PV, but honestly, the flavor just isn't there. I guess once you've dripped, there's no going back to carts/cartos (for me, anyway)

What I've found with the Reo mini, is that I pop in a fresh battery and 3ml bottle in the morning, and I'm good until late evening. A grand, with larger battery and 6ml of juice would last me more than a day.

So far, in roughly 2 weeks, the ONLY maintenance I've done, is put a spot of Noalax on the "switch" when I got it. That's it. I plan, just as a preventive measure, to clean it thoroughly this week. Its all mechanical, so, pop out a battery, unscrew the atty and bottle, and literally wash it, inside and out, then a new spot of Noalax. Then I fully expect another couple of weeks of no maintenance.

BTW, lots of folks use cartos with the Reo and are quite happy with them. One last note, I see that in the rare instance the Reo isn't for you, you can always pop it in the "classified" section of ECF. I've never seen one in there for more than 2 days before someone snatches it up, usually at close to the original price.

And I can assure you, you won't find ANYone that gives better support than Rob does. I'd better quit typing and get out of the way of the others that will tell you the same things :)

ETA: I don't find it wastes any juice. But I *do* vape more with it :)

Hi Bogey! This is the perfect place to post this. Welcome! :) It sounds like a Grand or Woodvil will fit your needs perfectly. Many of us have been down the same path, to different extents. My husband and I paid the price of entry many more times over than I'd like to admit. Anyway...no worries with the atty thing...you can use cartos on these. Many do. The nice thing about using the cartos...there really shouldn't be any juice in the reservoir to speak of. I don't use them...but that doesn't mean that they're not a great solution for some people. You'll hear from a bunch of carto users, I'm sure. Speaking from a purely personal level...my vaping success depended wholly on whether it is easier than smoking or not. I'm lazy...I don't drip, I don't do carts, I don't do syringes, foamies, and other what nots. I don't do the tons of batteries and chargers that don't last long enough. This was my easier than smoking solution. Anyway....You're welcome to post in here anytime and ask away. I hope we can help you find the answers you are looking for. :)

Hi Bogey,

Like you, I traveled down the same vaping road that you described. And, like you, I wanted a hassle-free vaping device that yielded great flavor and vapor with no "muss and fuss." The REO fulfilled those requirements for me in spades!

If you do get a REO and decide that it's not what you expected, you can easily sell it in the ECF Classifieds. Seems like they don't last much more than an hour (usually less) before they're sold :)

Hi bogey. I'm still new with my mini (it will be 2 weeks this wednesday.....wow it seems like an old friend already, but this is probably due to it never leaving my hands). I was always prefering atty's to carto's but ever since I tried my old boge lr carto on my mini I found a perfect match. My tastes may change down the road and I go back to atty's, but that's what's so nice about the reo. It works flawlessly with both in my experience. So well in my opinion that I don't see myself ever using any other type of pv (I do plan to get a grand as soon as I can afford it)

And like PattyR said - if you do get one and find its not for you and put it in the classifieds, there will be people tripping over each other to buy it from you.

The first day or so I "over squonked" and had a little juice in the catch cup, but you catch onto it pretty fast, and after that it's almost nothing.

It's a stretch for me to check the oil in my car, but no issues with maintaining a REO. In fact, I think it's a little easier because with the cartomizers and a Riva I was constantly overfilling them, and cleaning up juice. There really isn't much that needs cleaning on a REO.

Bogety, ran the gammut of devices and then onto bottom feeders. Reo grands & minis are completely mechanical devices. Nothing to fail here. A spot of Naolox on the firing pin and your golden. Heck one reonaut accidentally ran over their. These babies are as tough as they come. They also sell for about the same used as new, so you won't be out any cold cash if they are not your thing. Cartos, no problem. They can run either.

There is no simpler PV out there IMO. Like striking a match!

A lot of good information here - so I will just post my experience

I have been a Reo (grand) user for a very short while.

I switched VERY quickly from atties to cartos when starting to use PVs. I didn't like having to constantly drip, and I liked the "no hassle" idea of cartos (emphasis on idea).

I struggled to find a no-hassle way to vape. I really did. I wasn't expecting to buy a REO and have it be very little hassle, but it has turned out that way.
It's almost like - forget the idea of atomizers and cartomizers. Go back a step to the thing sticking out the top heats the juice and there is a ton of juice sitting below it. That heating element is easily fed and can be for much longer (compare 30 drops from the regular cartos to 6 ml - huge difference).

PLUS Rob stands by his products
PLUS It is EXTREMELY well built. I mean a piece of art.

Bogey, I trust you've watched the tutorial videos on the Reosmods site? You can tell a lot by those....they're for the Mini, but the Grands work just the same only with a better battery and a bigger juice bottle. I've used a lot of pvs in the last eleven months, and these REOs are the end of the search for the perfect pv for me. I really don't think you could go wrong buying one. I really can't add much to what everyone else has said, but just know that although we're all big fans of the REOs, we all have gone through many, many pvs before we got here. We're all singing the REO praises AFTER having used, collectively, probably every pv out there. Many of us started with the crappy mall kiosk stuff, evolved to either the 510 system or the KR808 system, on to the eGos, the vGos, the iGos, the Go-Gos, (the you-Go, we-Go, they-Go, etc.) on through many of the other various mods, and all have ended up here. That should tell you something.

I now own one of each (the Woodvil, the Grand, and the Mini) and I'd suggest (like Rhapsodies Fire said) the Woodvil or the Grand just because the batteries are better than the 14500 batteries that fit in the Mini. And a 6ml juice bottle is extra handy. Good luck with your decision. If you haven't watched the videos on the Reosmods site, you should. Also, there are lots of great reviews on youtube about the REOs....Amajin has a great one or two. Worth the time.

I've been vaping for over two years. I've had everything from whatever the piece of crap that smoking everywhere sold in the mall two years ago, to 901s, to 510s, passthroughs, 3.7v box mods, a vv box mod, a Protege, a GGTS, a GGTB, an Infinity, Hello-016s, eGos, Rivas, and probably several others. Many of those are great devices for what they're supposed to be.

I've hardly used any of them since I got my Grand a couple of months ago. I fill the bottle every couple of days, pop in a battery (or batteries when I want to go 6v) and vape. Squonk the bottle occasionally. A touch of Noalox on the contact, wipe it down inside, even though it doesn't need it.

That's it.
