I've found the pulse X regulated mod quite comfortable.

One of the reasons I ordered the asmodus Luna protected squonker is that it also looks very comfortable, including the large squonk cutout.
I think it may have been the Pulse X that I saw a picture of and thought it looked like it would be comfortable for me to use. :thumb:

Some of them have a textured body surface. Doesn't look very big which is a plus to me. I could use my index finger as the trigger finger; its the only finger that still has normal strength, the others are weak, including my thumbs.

Is there a mech only version?

Thanks to everyone who has offered suggestions. I haven't had a chance to look them all up yet.

Yes, the X is comfortable.

The Skullkandy is similarly comfortable if you would like to stay pure mech. I went for the Alchemist because I wanted 21700, though they also have 18650 variants.

If you're right handed, the Luna should also be way up there for comfort in the hand.

The original pulse "mech" version is also very comfortable. Its button is not classic mech - it has a sealed button housing. [VandyVape Pulse BF Squonk Box Mod | Special Deal

For the pulse mech I purposely crimp the "off" switch knife contacts tight, to minimize losses. I don't actually use the off function on that mod.

I like my mech squonkers. If I ever have a fumbly hand day, I can toss on a standard tank as long as the head has a reasonable resistance.

That was a difficult one!
Mech mod that has:
Not Hybrid (Faux).
Side -top fire button.
Venting efficiency.
Not mosfet -i.e. anything that might fail.
The way I see it a mech squonker is the only option.Couldn't find the Lostvape Furyan in stock anywhere but I found this:https://www.heavengifts.com/product/WOTOFO-NUDGE-MOD.html

I personally found the pulse 80w/90w was uncomfortable. It is noticably larger (width not thickness) in the hand than most single battery squonks I have used. I couldn't comfortably squonk it without readjusting my grip every time.

There is a pulse mech, but it has a horrible design for the locking system. There are much better options in the same price range.

Fair reason for a side button fire device. But why bypass? Are you looking for a fixed voltage device? Just confused as to why your inquiry with a mechanical and then bring up a regulated with bypass functionality.
Only because if I can't find a mech with the criteria I'm looking for, would a regulated mod with the critera (shape/design) I'm looking for function like a mech if I used it in bypass mode? In case the circuit board goes out, will it still operate as a mech? For a vapocolypse mod.

Sorry Bad, doesn’t work like that. Bypass may simulate the direct voltage like a mechanical, but it is not bypassing the circuitry. Any circuit failure will still render the device useless.

The pulse X and Alchemist are both "larger" form factor. I find them both quite comfortable, but I do have large hands.

Smaller format would be the original pulse or the Asmodus semi-regulated (or one of the Skullkandy 18650 versions).

For vapocalypse, personally I'd go for true mech squonkers. I have a pulse, the Skullkandy, and a couple of cheapie squonkers that I rebuilt with my own copper contacts and modmaker 510s.

The innards of the true mech squonkers are easily supported. This is my new Alchemist - a simple plastic fire button (and they include spares), bent metal contacts (I've made my own when I rebuilt the cheapies, using hard copper), and a modmaker 510.

Thanks for the info, guys. It looks like I need to focus on mech only mods. At least an 18650 single battery to keep the size down; 18350 or 18500 don't have enough capacity. Doesn't need to be a squonker, but I'm not opposed to using one. No heat sink to keep size down, so no faux hybrids. Seems there are more boxes than tubes that fit my criteria.

There are quite a few true mech 18650 squonkers out there. I have one that is supposed to be an Armageddon MFG. clone. It's approximately the size of an Altoids tin and cost less than $10. It's VERY simple and basic but it functions perfectly. I keep it in my work bag as a backup. Something like this one.

If planning on using a squonk mod as a squonker, look into replacement bottles as well. Some are proprietary to the mod, some use a more universal OEM design. Proprietary bottles may pose a challenge in finding replacements later on.
Yeah, thanks. I saw in one of the reviews that he modified the 510 attachment, replaced the bottle with a higher quality one, and sanded the battery contacts lightly. I could easily do that.

My next research project will probably be finding another squonk RDA. I only have that Reomizer whose cap fits very loosely.

Any recommendations? I'd probably use a single coil around 0.5 ohm.
