Hello all. I've been stalking your amazing community for about a month now and decided to jump in. Little about me. Got off analogs for about 4 months with a cigalike but got so frustrated with the need to carry carts and extra batteries etc. that I fell off the wagon. that was over a year ago. Now I'm back! Stopped the analogs may 5th and have gone from a gas station ego to my first love the MVP (now with protank 3) and I'm never going back! Soooo many delicious juices! My teeth are whiter, I smell like rainbows and sunshine, and that awful hack is gone! Now on to my questions:

1. What is this dripping stuff? Is this what I would do to try just a few vapes of different flavors? That is mainly what I'm trying to do right now. Are there inexpensive devices where I can add a small amount of liquid, try it, and move onto a different atomizer (?) for a new flavor? Or am I thinking about this all wrong? My shopping adventures have been thoroughly confusing in this aspect.

2. It seems like in order to become successful, for me at least, it seems this must become an all consuming (including disposable income consuming) hobby. Have y'all found that to be the case? Are the different juices alone enough to keep you interested and off the analogs? What would be your number 1 tip to long lasting success be? So far it looks like mine is going to be to buy the entire internet. :( I'm hoping that slows down!

Appreciate any advice and thanks for being such an awesome supportive community!

Yes that is what it am currently experiencing right now. My wallet does not love me but my lungs are happier. Dripping works great for discovering new flavors and changing it up quickly. I tried it last night for the first time and I am a huge fan. Some of the other members can explain it much better than I can though.

Welcome - many people prefer/enjoy making their own coils with their choice of wicking material for their atomizer.

I have converted exclusively to RDA's - for me: ease of use, inexpensive, no leaking, no gurgling, no spitting, reliable/long life, superior flavor and vapor density and provides greatest vaping experience variety for me - your experience will and can vary..

For out and about I use: Fastech:Magma Style Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer
Magma, Stainless Steel / SKU: 1718100 - $15.79 - awesome RDA, 22mm, with deep deep well (holds .9ml by my measurement) - dual or single coil - adjustable airflow (9 holes)

I leave the house with redundancy: two MVP 2's with two loaded ready to go Magma's and a small blue plastic delivery tube system of juice clipped to my belt loop.

At home Igo L/M/W style RDAs ($7 to $9 range).

RDA: Rebuildable dripping atomizer

Rip Trippers videos on youtube offer from beginner to advanced coil building and wicking for RDAs - a good place to start.
Read / watch youtube coil builds, coil resistance measuring, vaping experiences and RDA/RTA/RBA device reviews.

I prefer tanks because they hold a lot of liquids. RDA's you have to constantly drip juice directly onto the coil and wicks. If you want a good way to try liquids, try an HH.357 bridgeless dripping atomizer. Or..you can get a single coil RDA. They are easy to rebuild and work great for tasting. I have a Cyclone. I build my coil with 30ga Kanthal with 8 wraps on a 5/64 drill bit and use organic cotton for the wick. Gives me a 1.7 or 1.8 coil every time.

Edit: Definitely check out Rip Tripper on YouTube. He is a little crazy but has great info and his videos are clear.

Hi Becky84

Welcome to ECF and congrats on making the switch!
Attempting to try every flavor I could definitely helped keep me distracted and interested in vaping...once I found the flavors I liked best though, i caught a full blown case of shinyitis which turned out to be a much more costly problem.

Have you seen this thread? Tons of good info in there, I return whenever I want to learn something new. The Blog by the Ocelot, "The sound of dripping" explains the inexpensive bridgeless atomizers rmk_kelly was referring to really well, I found that a good way to start and see if I was interested before I purchased and RDA and wrapping my own coils.

Good luck, and hold onto your wallet!! :)

1. I use this:
Atomizer - SmokTech - 510 - ECBlend
3-4 drops of juice, 8-12 vapes, 3-4 drops everclear, shake and blow, 2-3 5 sec dryburns. Good to go for next flavor

Your best option for finding a juice that you love is to go to a local vape shop and sample their juices. Most have a juice bar where you can sample juice for Free. Drink water while you sample.
Buy small qtys until you've vaped it for a while (3-4 tanks).

2. The buying frenzy lasted in my case for about 3 months. Gear, juice buys were almost an everyday occurrence. Wife and I both got into it, so yeah we bought every shiny thing we saw. Then came christmas and more buying. Since the holidays the bleeding has diminished significantly but not completely stopped.
Remember - Vaping is not just a tool to quit smoking, it's an adventure.

Google "Vape Shops near Space Coast, FL" and see what pops up. That is how I found the shops here and in the outlying communities. You may be surprised. There was one that also targeted the more herbal audience. I went once and haven't been back. Same way with tobacco shops. I prefer shops that are dedicated to vaping. The knowledge is there, usually a juice bar for tasting, and lots of good equipment (though I usually order gear online at half the retail cost).

So much awesome info! I wish I had a local vape shop. I seem to live in the land that vaping forgot. The only shops I've found that might also have vaping supplies seem to target a more herbal audience in the more touristy areas. :/

You will spend more on vaping than you did on smoking at first. Just trying to find your perfect vape, but once you settle on something YOU enjoy, it goes down in price. Even more so if you get into RBA's and RDA's. Because you can get 100 feet of kanthal around $7 (give or take) cotton is cheap. I find having a tank style RBA is better for on the go. Less fuss than an RDA. You are going to spend quite a bit finding those perfect flavors, but once you find what you like you can just keep stock of everything :)

Nothing against the herbally inclined of course! But like you, I'm looking for a dedicated vaping B & M. I went to a tobacco shop first and got me a 450 ego for the bargain price of $60. I added a $12 dollar 12ml bottle of juice. :/ needless to say, done with all that. Cringe when I think of the gear I could've had with that money. Live and learn! Thanks so much for helping me search!! It does look like there's one within about a half hour I might have to check out. I had no idea!

If you ever venture up toward the Daytona or Orlando area there are a number of shops that provide an opportunity to taste juices! There is one in Edgewater, north of you, some in Port Orange, Daytona and Ormond. Plus quite a number of them in the Orlando area (although you would have to endure Orlando traffic!!!!!)
Good luck, and welcome!!
