Intro and Upgrade Question

Hello, all!

I'm new to this site and the vaping world in general. I smoked a pack a day for 10 years. I bought an iTaste MVP 9 days ago, and haven't even thought of smoking an analogue since! I love it.

I really like my MVP, but being the type of person who likes to dive in head first, I wonder what device is "top of the line."

I already switched to a Kanger Protank from the iClear 30 that came with the device, but what next? I would like something with vw. I keep reading about drip atomizers? But I haven't figured out exactly what they are...

Also, what would you consider the best of the best as far as PVs go?

Thanks for any replies! I'm glad to have found this forum.

I thought that I read recently about the Innokin iTaste MVP 2 coming out soon. If you really like your MVP that might be worth a short wait, since it will have variable wattage.

Dripping atomizers are just that; they contain an atomizer without any filler or wicks and you just drip liquid onto the coil as needed. They are really great for testing out new eliquids or giving yourself a change of pace in the flavor department without having to fill a tank. You can get 510 dripping atomizers for a few bucks and if you clean them periodically they last for quite a while.

The best of the best... that's all up to interpretation. You'll get a ton of recommendations by browsing the forums, and I'm sure you will get several here.

Congrats on making the switch, hopefully everyone here can help keep you off cigs. Good luck!

Hi and welcome!

"Top of the line" is kind of vague. There are many excellent devices on the market, all of which their own enthusiasts, whom I'm sure will be posting. It would probably be more useful to describe what features you are looking for in a device, or what devices you have seen that interest you, so members can offer useful recommendations.

That said, if you want to read posts like, "Just get this it's the best," I'm sure you will.

I'm pretty new to vaping.. I started in May of this year. But like you I wanted the best and I have been on the search LOL I have approximately 20 different set ups now. Everything from plain eGo c 650mah to eGo twist 1100mah to now the eGo EVIC. I also have the K100 Telescoping one. Cartomizers, clearomizers, atomizers... I've bought just about everything I've seen out there c4, c5, kanger pro tank 2, cylo etc...

My most favorite of all is the eGo twist 1100mah with the Ismoka bcc mega tank.

Of all of them I haven't been disappointed by any. I use them all here and there. As far as battery usage I prefer the 900mah b/c it's not too small not too big but the 1100mah isn't bad in size either. :)

I use the EVIC at home, don't really carry it out b/c it's big and heavy. But it does provide an excellent vaping experience b/c it is so adjustable.

Anyways.. like everyone said.. it's all a matter of what you like and are looking for :)

Most of the high end kit requires you to rebuild your own heads. The Protank ones are quite easy to rebuild, and can drastically change it's vape. Try your hand at that first, if you haven't already.

Drippers are as described earlier. I have a rebuildable igo L for this and it vapes great. I would highly recommend one.

For a high end atty I have a Kayfun Lite. If you've mastered rebuilding then it's fairly easy, and the vape is excellent. Doesn't leak either.

VW essentially does the same as VV, but the device does the math for you. You tell the device "I like my vape to be this hot", and it adjusts the power to achieve that, even when you change atty.

I consider a Provari as the Rolls Royce battery (there's always a big arguement about this cos they're expensive, they don't do VW, and they can actually do less than a device costing a quarter of the price). They're quality built, feel good in your hand, and look good.

The best device is the one you use and that keeps you from smoking.

Provari gets kudos for build quality.

Vamo gets kudos for low cost and features.

Lots of good hardware in between.

But if you have those and only use them at home, and really like, for example, small stick batteries for most of your vaping, then for you, that's the best.

I often read hear about members who've gotten some big spendy mod - and never take it out, but only use, say, a 1300 Spinner unless parked in their easy chair...

Top of the line is very subjective. Everyone enjoys a different vape, and what works well for some doesn't work well for others.

You'll definitely want to look into a variable wattage device. As someone mentioned upthread, the iTaste MVP is being reworked to include variable wattage, scheduled for release before the end of the year. I bought an MVP a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed the Innokin build quality and performance so much that I bought an SVD last Thursday. Been using the for 4 days now and absolutely love it.

In any case, I would advise stepping up gradually and familiarizing yourself with new features and performance, rather than diving headfirst into 'top of the line'. That's a lot of money to spend without knowing if you'll even enjoy the vape produced by any particular product, be it a Provari or a mechanical custom. So take it a step at a time, spend a bit of money along the way, learn exactly what you like and how it works, and go from there.

I'll add - this gradual advancement can be done fairly cheaply if you order from Fasttech or shop around for the best deal locally. I paid through the nose for my SVD, but I have a bit of money and don't mind spending to support local vendors, so I bought it from my B&M. If you're on a budget and don't have the money to play around a lot, go through a company like Fasttech. The SVD starter kit that I paid $115 for would only run about $54 on Fasttech.

but as you said the kayfun lite is up there too but it really needs a glass tank??? pyrex that is!!!
