Hey guys, my name is Dev. I'm a chronic lurker in this forum and have found loads of information on this forum. I'm new and this is my first post, so hi! Anywho, I'm an 8 year 1-1.5 PAD smoker since 2007. I became sick of smoking in December 2015, and used Ce4s to jump start my quitting experience. It wasn't quite enough so I went to my local shop and grabbed a k1 tank and some juice. Its been great ever since. No cigarettes since Dec 4th at 12:30am (technically Dec 5th).

After 2 months I wanted more flavor so I did some research and purchased an Innokin Itaste MVP 3.0 Pro. HERES THE KICKER. The manual suggests a "high quality 5V 500mA charger. However, it seems like everyone and their brother uses whatever charger suits their need. Ive done quite a bit of searching on this for days and can't find an answer to the following question:

Is my Samsung UL certified 5V 1A charger suitable and safe considering that I'm under the impression that the mod itself regulates the intake of amperage? If this is not safe, can anyone suggest or recommend a charger with specs that ARE suitable and safe? Ill purchase high quality and won't skimp, I just don't want to overcharge or otherwise and A) Become a statistic OR B) Cause harm to my device.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys and girls in advance, and keep on vapin' on. -Dev

howdy! and welcome!

for the mods i have that use direct usb charging, i use an anker power hub (available in a number of options, the 40w 5port rascal is the one i have - uses a smart port sensing technology to regulate amperage based on device) and have had zero issues thus far (used with innokin disrupter, smok m80, COV mini volt, istick 40w tc)

Welcome and best of luck with your vaping journey, :)

I'm very conservative and cautious when it comes to chargers and bats. Especially considering all the counterfeits and low quality OEM stuff. I'm not saying your current charger is bad but rather my view is to error on the side of caution. Dito! Anker makes great stuff

When I had my MVP 3 Pro I used the less expensive Anker Hub model where only two ports produce a max of 1A and it worked fine. If you decide to go this route, grab some extra high quality USB cables (Data Transfer and charging) as backups.

Good luck!

The 1 amp charger should be fine. You are correct that the charging circuit in the mod regulates how much current it uses. 500 ma is the minimum requirement as previously stated by another poster.
Using too small of a charger can cause overheating and such in the charging circuit in the mod. But larger than it needs should be no problem.

I agree, IMO your Samsung UL certified 5V 1A charger would be fine. When I started vaping and getting all different chargers with kits I bought, and some came with none, I asked my neighbor who's an electrician about them. He told me I'd just need to make sure the charger for each device is at least what the specs recommend to use with it, but no lower than that. Higher was OK, too, within reason of course.

Holy cow I did not expect replies so quickly haha. Wow thank you all so much for the information! Ill have to do a little research on those anker products. This is very reassuring for me. You know, I couldn't for the life of me find the info I was looking for, until I said to myself: why not sign up to ECF and get on the bandwagon. Seriously guys thank you for the replies and I hope to see you guys again in the forums! Vape It Up! - Dev

@VaperDev93 Hello and Welcome to the forums!!!! Think of charging like filling a bottle of water. The faster you fill, the least charge you get as you turn the water off, you will see that it is actually only close to full. With a slower charge you get a more accurate Full charge per se. You will be fine but if you can, go to your local b&m and they should have the .5 amp plug that you need for the most optimal charge. Hope this helps.
