While I understand your frustration and where you are coming from, the majority of your frustration is coming from yourself. I could understand before they started shipping at all why you might have been worried that perhaps we all had been scammed, but at this point, many of us have received our devices, so unless you think that Jon decided to honor everyone else's order and just screw you and you alone over, I'm not really sure where your fear is based.

Now don't get me wrong, I like most everyone else, loves immediate satisfaction. I want to order something and have it the next day, and I get that, but I think if you just kinda took a step back and waited till you got a shipping notification or a device in the mail and then just enjoy it, you would relieve yourself of a great deal of stress. It's not as if you are waiting for a heart transplant and if you don't get in in 48 hours you are dead, it's just an e-cig.

Personally I want NexGen to take off. I like the Futura (based on reviews) but I love that they are trying to source everything from USA. How they handle things now will dictate their future in this business. With so many people switching over from analogs every day, the money is there for the taking. If I tell someone the Futura is great, but their service is horrible, how many sales will I have put off?

IMHO they shouldn't have taken peoples money until they were actually shipping product. If they needed the funds, that's what Kickstarter is for. There is no excuse for just going silent having taken a bunch of people's money. Tell people about the delay, tell them what part broke on your CNC or who is giving you delays. Most importantly, it should be posted on their web site, not a thread in someone else's forum. This type of behavior isn't acceptable for normal people, regardless of if it seems to be the norm in the e-cig community.

I want a Futura, I will order a Futura, and hopefully I will recommend them to others once this whole production thing works itself out. I would love for them to eventually start making other mods, make a hybrid atomizer, maybe build in a USB charger. I'd get them for gifts, something nice that they can keep for a long time and I can personalize for them. An eGo is to get a friend to quit analogs, this would be something I could get for my mother or sister as a Christmas present. No way I could sit there and explain ohms law and all those button clicks to my mom, VW is necessary for the future.

I'm really hoping Jon gets the waiting list working on the website (I asked him about it last week via email), as well as some more updates. I guess this is always the problem being an early adopter.

Not fear. Just frustration. If I went to Best Buy and paid for and ordered a product they didn't have in the store I understand I have to wait until such time as it becomes available. Now when they send me a notice saying it is available I say great and go get it. If it wasn't there when I got there to pick it up of course I would be upset. I was told it was ready. What difference is it when the owner of this company personally told me my device was built and was shipping the next day? More than once? More than twice? At what point do you stop making excuses for him and hold him accountable? I knew when I ordered there was a wait. That's fine. What's not fine is being lied to repeatedly. I'm not worried that I've been robbed or anything. I was for a little while but not now. I just want to be treated like any good business would treat a paying customer. Good communication, fairness and respect. I don't think that is too much to ask for but maybe these days it is.

if its this hard to just get some simple shipping info I fear what it will be like trying to get some help under warranty. one of the first orders with a serial # in the 200's? what are they doing over there?

the mod rocks but i sold mine off for this very reason, sad really, but i cannot condone or support customer service like this and im afraid of whats going to happen should I need service or a repair - they lost my respect and support as all of this is not very professional * no matter how nice the mod is* ... have fun guys.

too many other cool mods to play with without these kind of games.

Look, I understand everyone's frustration, and I'm sorry about some of the inaccurate shipping estimates. Please understand we're a small shop (but getting a bit larger), and much of the building and shipping is done personally by me and my partner Mike. Too many hats at the moment.

We shipped around 20 units Friday, and 25 more will go out either Monday or Tuesday. If we can keep up this schedule we should have all orders fulfilled in the next two weeks. Maybe three. We're not intentionally "lying" about deliveries - it's just that... things... happen, and we don't have the massive resources to overcome them in a manner as timely as we'd like.

As an example, it can take as long as half an hour to get a rocker right. At the moment I'm the only one who knows the secret so you can imagine how I've spent the majority of my time lately. We'll be training others in this arcane art, but considering the season that's a difficult proposition just now.

I'm happy to be held accountable for any mishaps, and the only way to do that is offer refunds to those truly unhappy campers. We've got a massive waiting list at this point, so we can just turn around and resell any cancelled orders. Please avail yourselves of this option if you simply can't take it any longer.

On a more positive note, if those who haven't yet received their Futuras can just hang on a bit longer you'll enjoy a really nice device which will up your vaping ante significantly. Be a shame to miss out on the best regulated system in existence over a slight (ok, long) delay, right?

Ok, usually I try to stay objective in my comments, but this is ridiculous. We send notifications with every shipment, and have repaired and returned all units that have come in (other than those which arrived, say, Friday). We're totally committed to customer service and every one that comes back under warranty will be serviced as per the agreement. End of story.

Jon, I like many others understand and are ready to stick this thing out. We sympathize with you as you work tirelessly during the holiday season to fulfill our orders, while maintaining the level of quality that we (your discerning customers) expect & demand.

With that being said I do feel that a bit more could be done to transparently update your customers throughout this process. Details such as what order number you're working on and how many orders you're shipping would help. What are the customers not on this forum thinking? And while it's clear that your shipping approximations are very much "best case scenario", I think that much of the anger on this forum is a direct result of the disappointment caused when our orders don't ship as expected.

Just my 2 cents. Like you said I'm sure that the wait is going to be worth it. The Futura looks like a great mod, and at the end of the day the name of the game is to enjoy a bi$&@ing vape.

I can understand that sentiment, and I'll try to improve communications from this end. What happens is, sometimes, rarely, a particular order requires a tube which needs adjustment, so it's back to the machine shop for repair. That can cause an out-of-queue phenomenon, whereby an order which, by all rights, should have shipped (according to its #), doesn't. Consequently, some later numbers get shipped before the earlier ones. We're trying to keep this to a minimum, but we can't always predict when it will happen.

That said, we're working on 1980 upwards right now, so the next shipment (after this Tuesday's) will be (approx.) 1980-2005. That's approximate since there are some earlier numbers which haven't gone out yet due to the above reasons. So by the beginning of the following week we should have most everything up to 2005 shipped, and possibly more. That's not a firm promise, but it's our goal. In any case, lots of people will be receiving Futuras. And nice ones too.

Awesome Jon.
I think that this is the type of comment that helps us (your valued customers) better understand the situation and the day to day experiences that you're dealing with. I'm sure that the most customers like myself can accommodate some delays as long as we know you've not forgotten us.
Thanks.

I completely agree, that's the stuff that people want to know. Jon, is there any chance you can put a "News" link up on the website so that people who aren't on the forum could read the updates?

Another entry point for the Futura
in a display of utter clumsiness, I managed to let go and fling my futura across the room, in a nice parabola trajectory, landing on hardwood floor 3 yards away.
the thing did not flinch. no scratches, nothing bent, the top cap is still a-ok, as was the attached KF.
other than the display momentarily flickering the error code UMONSTERDIE, my unit survived unblemished.

hope all pre-orders get their units for xmas. it is really worth the wait in my opinion.
