I think it has to do with power more, as opposed to the physical size of the coil. Cloud chasers generally vape at a higher power than tootle puffers. They need big cottons to soak up lots of juice to prevent burning. And that requires bigger coils, not necessarily because bigger coils burns more juice. You can build a lower powered, high resistance big coil too using a thin wire.

Those who vape more than 10ml a day are probably cloud guys. Those who vape 3ml a day are probably tootle puffers. Right?

I would say yes. On my squonkers, I go through about 10ml/day, but add my tanks into the mix and I go through approximately 30ml/day.

For the 16mm atty, I decided on a post hole of 2.5mm. For the 13mm, a post hole of 1.5mm. Please tell me if that's enough for most. Remember, these are dedicated post holes for each coil.

I can speak to the 13mm attys 1.5mm or 1/16" post holes as that is the exact size I drill standard attys of this diameter to accommodate mundys magic triple twisted wire...bravo sir!
