Introducing myself via my vaping vita

Hey there,

I found this forum very helpful and sympa during my (ever so slowly) fading out Newbie phase, so I thought I'll join.

To introduce myself via my vaping career: I'm among other things a scholar and and bodybuilder guilty of schlepping around a Nautilus Mini on a pink twist battery. I know it's funny looking. I just can't get myself to care for the look of my vaping assembly. Way different from my first vaping attempt with an eRoll (because 'anything looking too different from a cigarette is embarassing and bizarre'(tm) #newbiefail #myfirststep.not #didntdoitforme). Around 6 months later I finally got at least an egoCC and discovered that vaping can actually be enjoyable.

Fast forward to now: I vape on trains and at conferences, as I can keep the smoke inside forever and let out clear air. When I use a box mod I get away with the inhaler answer. l also always have a fresh cup of tea nearby , just in case.

So far my biggest and latest gear-adventure is a Guardian II pipe mod and a 3D-ish dripper which will be my first rebuildable atomizer experience once the &%]$+¥ parcel finally arrives. I love gadgets and fruity liquids and want to make vaping my real hobby, meaning that I'll eventually know what I'm doing, and I plan to practice until I become one of those people who can wick with their eyes closed without even paying attention. I'm a bit excited and intimidated about starting to wick.

What else... I quit smoking through vaping, cigs just taste horrible now, I can't get myself to smoke one any more, which is fabulous.
And I recently had my first good-tasting self mixed liquid experience and am super proud of it, as if I'd actually manufactured something complicated :)

Hoping to be able to contribute, not only take advantage from everybody's experience around here.

Now I'll go figur out how to add a picture to my profile :)

Thanks!
MNM

Pleased to meet you! Can you or someone else clarify the whole fresh cup of tea thing, as it was said so matter of factly yet everything I'm imagining the tea must be for can't be right.

Nice intro, MNM. Sounds like you're right on target. Yeah building and wicking, understanding different fiber wicking potentials and characteristics, getting a firm handle on everything from mixing, building, wicking, and wattage, frak, just so much to consider that affects everything vape.

I'm primarily a tanked system rba kind of guy. Vape in the 50-70 watt range, with occasional flurries into the low 100's:D Me first reg. was the Provari 2.5, first rba, The Russian. Now the collection consists of 100-150 watt box mods, and various 26+18650 mech mods, with a modest selection of rba's to top them all, me thinks.

Yeah, vape is a very progressive hobby, that enabled me to kick a 30 year, really nasty habit, that was killing me softly with whatever the frak is in a camel filter. :D After a 1.64 years of vaping, have finally found my sweetspot:D:lol:

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!

Welcome and congratulations, Mrs. Next Match! :) Your post was entertaining and funny. Looking forward to hearing about your new discoveries and experiences. ECF is a wonderful accepting place to learn and share.

Drunkenbatman, think the hot tea is used for cover. If some vapor slips out, looks like steam from hot tea. :) For the life of me, I can't get the hang of stealth vaping, but I don't go out much so don't practice enough. Mrs. Next Match, correct me if I'm wrong......which happens at least once a day.

Oh wow. Thank you all so much for the warm welcome! :toast::toast:

Yes, the cup of tea is to disguise the vape if any should exit my lungs at a conference or on the train etc. floral Jasmin preferred :) For extra disguise bring a thermos can and open it when vaping, hoping that other vapers won't think it's a huge mod.
I haven't had a chance to pull this off on a plane yet but I'm determined. A protank 3 mini will easily be disguiseable as a sturdy-but-fancy marker pen I'm chewing on. glasses and being super focused on a manuscript might be of help as well. I can't wait until my next flight :)

Concerning stealth vaping I'm lucky to have many years of continuous Yoga practice of various Pranayama (breathing exercises), esp..Abyantara Kumbhaka. I found those exercises in the morning or during a break great for my overall well being, they help me keep/return to a relaxed state, and now whenever I keep the vape inside for long I slightly feel like I'm abusing a health technique :) When I'm in a very calm state I naturally breathe around twice or three times per minute. I can recommend Pranayama exercises for whatever reasons, but anyone trying this out please be careful to never force keep in the breath, which is not healthy at all. Trying to expand a little at a time, with a proper tutorial , should give noticeable results over the course of 1 or 2 months.

Then I don't think you're abusing the technique. After all, with the vape you're holding your breath, not retaining it :) (At least that's how the difference was explained to me years ago. Not a practitioner, just a sometime student.)

And you've given me some ideas for what to do with an extra 1 Liter stainless vacuum bottle.... :vapor:
