Actually he got a cease and desist letter about it. But he never sold it or made any money on it, so it wouldn't have been economical for Lucas to take it further and they didn't bother him anymore. Now Disney has the rights and they don't fool around. He never did anything with it but all the rest of us will probably have to stop using it.
