I know the first versions of the Nova's had a bad burning taste, due to whatever...This may be what Cyrus is referring too...

The 2.5's, and all versions since, have rectified this...there is no burning taste, and they vape rather well.....

The heads for the v2.5 that I have are not yellow but they are an off-white. I got these as they were first released and haven't had any burnt tastes as long as I didn't vape at a wattage higher than the e-liquid itself could take... The e-liquids I vape will typically take anywhere between 6-9 watts, but it is very dependant on the e-liquid more so than the hardware I'm using to vape with.

I've got about 10 heads that I've used in rotation since the release of the v2.5 version and haven't had any issues with burning the gaskets or any other part... the only times I've had burnt issues were e-liquid based ones ( going to a wattage too high for the e-liquid itself )

I would have answered the question about if there was NR wire used now or not... but seriously, I have an additional 8 heads that I haven't even used yet and have had no reason to rebuild the one head that I messed up... it sits in the too be fixed pile ( and may even be a v1 head, can't remember now it's been so long since that happened )

Thank you for trying rdsok, but that doesn't help as my mini gaskets from GV indeed burn and have no NR wire to speak of.

Notice how in this thread I never mentioned "burnt taste." My stock coil actually burnt into the gasket. The taste is quite unique, its not the 'burnt taste' of the dry hit we all deal with from time to time.

There are enough people, a minority but a significant one, with said issues to spark multiple threads in the modding forum and a co op feeler for replacement gaskets for those that are sick of adding their own NR wire, but want to enjoy the great vape these units can give

Here's the differential dx:

1) different materials on authentic units are being distributed, explaining the discrepancy
2) magic
3) different vaping conditions (not likely, 7 watts on a full tank with full tilt is about as wet as it gets)


I'm truly elated for the people whom these work for without gasket replacement or NR wire modification.

My intention is not to insult GV, I'm a big fan. My intention is to see if I can order this new unit which looks sharp btw, without worrying about ordering more NR wire and/or subjecting more of my gear to autopsy to harvest organs.

Then I will reword since you are getting picky about the words I chose instead of going by what was meant... I'm not getting any burning on the gasket even when vaping at over 7 watts... with or without NR wire in the head

I'm basing my wattage settings only when using my Kick which uses Vrms and not when I'm vaping with my ZMax which uses Vavg making it hard to determine the wattage accurately ( ie 4w setting appears to be closer to 6w )

As far as I know there is no NR wire connecting to the posts...VISION owner not online now but I think I had asked him about this before and he said no...

Log into your account on GV and check there to see if it has shipped... I've had a couple of times that Stamps.com ( which GV as well as others uses ) didn't send out the ship notice until after I received the package )
