***instructions for over wicking***

1. remove drip tip, dig out main plug from cup, fluff the wick if you like by lifting it up, this isnt needed because of the next step but can be done if you wish but isnt needed since these wicks and the pressure help it wick tremendously.

2. turn the inner plug so the slits in the inner plug are no were need the slit on the ceramic cup, then reinsert the plug and press it into place, fill and soak the coil with a drop, and vape.

3. this should stop any over wicking issue, you can adjust it from that point if its not wicking fast enough by lift the plug by the wick area just a tad at a time until youve reached the right spot.

ive done this to 2 now that over wicked, this stops it and then gives you control depending with the inner plug by lifting it slightly

I was wondering what gotvapes cone fits the phoenix bottom coil for a ego? Their just a little to thick for the standard cone.
I did get a cone from Gotvapes, but if the drip tip is off I can put the regular cone over it easily. Here is a link for the larger diameter ones at Gotvapes. eGo Cone (also for Micromizer and FLuxmizer clearomizers!) Wow, that actually makes sense:) Going to try it as soon as I get done with this work I called in for on Sunday morning. I know how you feel, Bad for having to work late nights and early mornings...

The problem with the regular cone is that it will kill the airflow to the botton of the clearo. I recommend getting the one meant for the clearos, otherwise you will be sucking your clearo so hard your teeth might start to hurt;) (at least that's my experience, I ended up punching two holes in the middle of the regular cone to get more airflow since the CE3s do kind of fit. The CE2 will definitely not fit)

Is overwicking causing leaking or gurgling or both?

I got to try out my TCs last night, filled one up as recommended on the video and card, filled it slowly with a syringe, tried it out, worked great. Nice vapor, clean taste, no problems.

Then I filled up a second one the exact same way. Nice and slow with a syringe. I took both of them out with me, one attached to my e-cig, the other in my purse in case I wanted to switch flavors later.

Well, checked my purse a few hours later and realized about 3/4ths of the juice in the first one that I had filled, had dumped into my purse. Pretty annoyed by this, considering it was one of my favorite juices and the mess it made inside my purse. The other one still works great, but not sure whats wrong with the one that leaked.

I am hesitant to fill up the other TCs since I don't want to waste any more juice. Should I use the instructions to prevent over-wicking to fix this?

yeah, the only way to get a bottom coil to leak is to squeeze to the tube or fill them wrong.

Ive removed and twisted my cup seal on #2 and put it back in as bad suggested, we'll see if it sorts it out.

#3 is working great with no gurgle at all so far. The coil was pushed a bit to the side, so i was getting some plastic taste from the cup seal so i just removed it completely and still no gurgling yet.

These are the best tasting carto ive ever tried. Not sure whats different about the coil's used in the phoenix line but whatever it is it works like a dream.

Hey all,
I followed Bad's directions for correcting the wicking issue and so far so good. The only thing extra I did was to use a bic lighter to reheat the shrink tube (the black piece just below the ceramic cup) to tighten it up a bit more and trimed about a 1/4 inch off the wick both ends. It has been about an hour or so since the mod. and I can say that the gurgling and build up of juice between the seal and drip tip have all but quit. Speaking just for myself this makes these items very usable. Thanks Bad and hopes this helps others willing to give it a try.

I just tried your suggestion about turning the inner plug so the slits are not near the slits on the ceramic cup, and i notice a BIGGGG difference. now it doesnt over vape and seems to be on target, taking another pull right now,,, hang on,, Holy smokes,, i mean holy vapes lol, IT WORKS SO MUCH BETTER,, its not leaking,,, hopefully others will find your method satisfactory.. thanks BAD,, im off to vape !

just remember this, thin juice will get through any passage faster and easier then thick liquid.

this is not debatable, this is a fact. when you use a syringe to suck in juice form your ejuice bottle, pg will pull into the syringe fast and easy, but if you try this with thick vg juice it comes into the syringe hard and very slow, so this is all common sense stuff and im sure many of us realize this and newcomers learn this on their own or form posts.

the same applies to bottom coils phoenix, you cant logicaly expect thick vg like juice to seep through the wick and the hole on the bottom faster then what pg would. so that is why the tip of lifting the inner post helps, becuase it enlargens the wick holes and lets more juice in to do its job.

thats why we are working on the adjustable phoenix so you cant control this depending on the thickness of your juice and in the next few months this will hopefully be a reality once its full working.

the same will apply to top coils and wick, thinner juice will travel easier then thicker juice, so if it over wicks, turn the plug like i suggested above in the overwicking tip. at the same time if its under wicking ,you can trun the the inner plug so part of the slit matches with part of the slit on the cup, and continue from that point until you reached the right space for the thicker juice to seep in.

the first part is the little rubber drip tip that comes with the unit, i usually toss them cause i use my own drip tips. The next part is the seal that sits on top of the ceramic circle. the seal that sits on the ceramic thing has 2 little holes one on each side. if you pull out the seal there are 2 slits on either side, those 2 slits are suppose to fit over the slits on the white ceramic circle. but what Bad was saying is instead of matching up the slits when you put the rubber seal back over the ceramic thing turn it so the slits are not right over the slits on the ceramic thing,, i tried this and i just vaped the entire top coil without any gurguling or leaking

Turning the seal did stop the over wicking for me, but also cut off the juice supply too much when chain vaping. I can see this working, but I think i pushed it down too tight and cut off the circulation. I didn't have much time today, with everything going on, to readjust and find the sweet spot. I will tinker some more tomorrow. I'm sure that, once i find the sweet spot, this will do it and I can go on enjoying the amazing vapor, th, flavor and heat that these have. Thanks Bad:)
