What bout mesh? Or can I buy that at hardware store?
My bud is buying me one when you get them back in stock. It's like one of those things I can't get out of my head. Wanna practice on the phoenix clone before its ordered

Sent from the future... Left in the past..

Best place is The Mesh Company. It's in the UK but shipping price is reasonable and they usually give you more than you ordered. I ordered 1 sheet and got 3.

I know I've asked this before and someone probably posted a link, but the Mesh Co has LOTS of different types.
Do you know which specifically is the best for this type of application? I can buy some and just cut them up for sale and ease of purchase on this side of the pond.

WSS500SF-A4 Super Fine #500 Stainless Steel Mesh 25 Micron

#500 is the best. #400 works well but not as well as #500.

These are longer than you need but works good for the fill hole because you can remove it without using tools. Just screw it in enough to plug the hole.

Just got my Griffin a couple days ago. Using the cotton wrap works perfectly and I have ZERO wicking issues with fill hole plugged. I can't out vape it.

This is the exact method i used once i saw the video and it solved my wicking and hot spots. Vaping like a train and awesome flavor!!
Now to find an easy way to tell when I am nearly out of juice, for now I refill before leaving the house.

Yea, I'm hoping a clear tank will be released for this.

I will see what I can do but we already asked them to make it bigger :) now we want it smaller? LOL they are gonna be like
:confused::confused: crazy Americans :confused::confused:

Standard size? do you just mean the smaller hole?

Original Batch 1.0mm hole (three weeks ago)
Newest batch 1.5mm hole. (last & this week)

Regarding the cap hole sizes

IMO, the 1.5mm serves well as the default hole size.

Maybe what could be done, is sell the kits with the 1.5mm hole as standard. Then sell as only as an accessory, 1mm, 1.2mm, and if at all possible vertical dual .75mm hole caps.

Griffin numbers 3&4 arrived today. (Big shout out to Eric for once again excellent customer service)

So now I have one for each of my primary flavors.:vapor: Have one clear tank done, and will go clear on all of them when I make the time. All I need to do now is make some holders to keep them upright. One for at home, and one to fit in my trucks ashtray, and I'm set.

i remember reading somewhere that purchasers of the original griffin would have the option of receiving the newer section with the larger air hole so we wouldn't have to purchase a second unit. is this still true or did i mistake something?

Yes, when I get them in :)
Probably the next shipment.

The cotton does not burn. I don't really use it because it prevents shorts. I use the cotton because, to me, it tastes better than just SS. The only reason I use SS at all is because it's too difficult to get the wick down the hole and attach the coil properly.

What I do is use the smooth end of a 1/8" drill bit, wrap the coil, then place the end of the bit into the wick hole and attach, tighten, and align the wick. When the bit is removed, the coil is aligned perfectly with the wick hole. Then I soak the cotton twine wick with juice, twist it tight so there is plenty room through the coil and just feed it through the coil down into the tank. Once in, I use a sewing needle to help spread out the wick so it touches all parts of the coil. First one took forever. Second time was cake.

Now that I have some spares, I'll revisit the mesh wick again...maybe. The cotton just works so nice, I really don't know if it's worth breaking out the torch again.

cool beans! if possible give us a heads up regarding that so we, or i at least, can start placing a big order together to go with it :)

I will, once I confirm they are being shipped I will announce, I do not like to pre-hype anything in case something falls through or falls short.

So is the one on the first post the newer version or the older one? Seems that the one I had just got the center post sleeve is permanatly applied to the fill cap?

Not sure what you are referring to. But if I am assuming correctly, the center post is tied down with the screws, you need to unscrew them to remove the top part of the tank.

The difference between the two (not really different versions) is only a larger (1.5mm vs 1.0mm) air hole in the side of the tank, that's it as far as I know

question for bluegrass - i came across shorter screws at fastenal which is local for me but it shows din 85 a-2. not being familiar with machine screws what might the difference be? btw the fastenal screws are marked ss ...... m2 x 4

Sorry, I have no idea. I was interested in what DIN is and I'm assuming that this is the def for this context.

A direct translation to DIN is Deutsches Institute fur Normung or better understood as German Institute for Standardization. DIN is the internationally recognized consensus standards body of Germany. Well established before ISO the DIN nomenclature and practices continue to be prevalent in the fastener industry.
