Well I started an account here to ask a simple question but it turns out I need no less than 5 (FIVE) posts in the noob forum to post anywhere else, so I figured I'd start with an introduction.

I have officially been vaping for just a month now. I quit smoking smoking the day i received my KR808D, which absolutely amazes me. Prior to that I smoked 1-2 packs of camels (filtered full-flavor, but sometimes non-filters) a day. I really loved my cigarettes and had little faith that an electric gizmo could get me to quit, but it sure did!

I first saw e-cigs back in 2007 at the little Israeli stand in the mall. Having been burned several times at the Israeli stands, I instantly assumed it was a gimmick and wrote off e-cigs for a long time. That said, I always said I would quit smoking when my first kid was born...

Last October (eleventy-four years before I expected it to happen) I had my first daughter. Subsequently I tried half-heartedly to quit, but quitting cigarettes and dealing with the changes of becoming a father do not go hand in hand, especially if you don't really want to quit.

I had weened off to half a pack a day by late april, but with much frustration. Shortly thereafter, stress at work shot me back up to over a pack a day. I had just about given up on quitting when...

In mid-may, I spotted a woman at the smoke pit at work with an e-cig. Having always been mildly curious, I approached her and asked about it. She told me that she had been a 3-pack a day smoker, and with e-cigs she had quit in 2 weeks.

I didn't miss a beat, I spent the rest of the day researching e-cigs. Between the story she had told and realizing how much cheaper they could be, I ordered a V2 KR808 a few hours after talking to her. (At that point I wasn't aware that all e-cigs are made in china and I could have gotten the same thing for half the price.)

My V2 arrived on May 26, and I have been smoke free (sans 1 camel just to realize they are awful 2 weeks later) ever since. I've moved on a bit from the V2 though.

By a week into the V2 I realized the 1 Carto = 1 pack marketing line was BS. I was going through 4-5 cartos a day! At that rate switching was barely saving me 50 cents a day. Not what I had in mind. I found ECF and quickly realized that my best bet was an Ego-Twist Type B. I ordered that week and I really love it. I now use a pair of twist batteries (usually at 4.2 volts) with an LR ego-c atty and an ego mega tank full of Longbottom Leaf.

Not only that, but for fathers day I gave my dad a KR808 kit. He has smoked 2-3 packs a day for over 30 years. After just 2 weeks he was down to half a pack a day. I now have a real hope of seeing my dad pass 70, which is probably the greatest thing yet for me.

Anyways, I wanted to drop my question in just in case someone here can answer it:

Does anyone know of an Ego Rapid Charger that uses colors other than Red/Green to display charge status? I am Red/Green color blind and can't tell when my Batt is fully charged to save my life. In fact, I didn't even know it changed colors until my wife said something about it this weekend. Looking for something that has a blue LED or an LED that turns off when it charges. Doesn't really matter as long as you don't have to tell the difference between red and green.

I'm wondering what an Isreali stand is ....

LOL, At least on the East Coast, those little Kiosks in the mall that always employ Israeli immigrants to peddle products ranging from sunglasses to hand cream to e-cigs. It's about a fifty-fifty shot whether the product they sell is a scam or not.

I should note that I am NOT anti-semitic and have nothing against immigrants from Israel or otherwise. It just so happens that the con-artists who run the stands tend to hire them to do their dirty work.

20 Minutes to charge a 650 mah eGo? Is that all it takes? Geez I was expecting a couple hours or so. My 250 mah V2s took over an hour to charge (they had an LED that changed from red to blue).

If thats the case then I don't really have to worry about it. Can anyone else confirm that they charge in under an hour on the rapid charger? I'll just leave them in for an hour and be set for the next day.

Check the output voltage on your charger - it's it's 420 ma output, and you're charging a 650 mah battery, it should theoretically take roughly an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how low the battery was drained. If you're using a 500 ma charger (sounds like you are), an hour and 5-10 minutes should be about the most it will ever take.

Since it hasn't been mentioned, you can refill those v2 cartridges via the condom method (check youtube for v2 condom refill) if you still have them.

Thanks, I tried it but those cartomizers were just not cutting it for me, plus I wasn't happy with the V2 flavors and wanted to be able to easily try out different flavors. I wound up giving the V2 to a friend (after I killed half my cartos trying to clean them without doing enough reading).

If you put red tape over the light it might help. Red tape would cancel out the green, making the light look much darker when its green. The red light would still look bright.

I tried this a while back by coloring some tape over a battery light with a red sharpie and taking pictures of the light in black and white (same exposure times). It seemed to work. I could clearly distinguish red vs. green (based on brightness) in the photos, but not sure if a true red/green colorblind person would see the same effect.

I heard rapid charging is bad for your batteries. Second of all why not put a piece of tape over the light and color it with a highlighter or something so it changes the colors?

My KGO charger has a red green light and I am also colorblind but I was fortunate to get one that blinks green with a constant red under it til it charges and then it goes solid green and not only can I tell the colors apart in the first place since they are so different (the green is much brighter) I could also go by blinking alone.
