I've been lurking so I figured it's time for an introduction.

On 12/20/13 I bought my first device(s): two 1100mah pass through Ego style batteries that came with CE4 clearos. My goal was to quit my modest 1/2 pack a day smoking and to reduce my wife's nearly two pack a day habit. I was hopeful, but had no idea if she'd do more than "try it". She had tried early design cig-alikes a few years earlier but found the experience unsatisfying.

That evening, she had two cigarettes. The next day she sent me back to the local B&M for a lanyard and some spare clearos. She had picked two tobacco blends and wanted to be able to switch back and forth easily. I happily obliged and picked up a couple of mini vivi novas.

A week later I returned my defective battery for a replacement and picked up some other flavors to try.

This week (week 3.5) I picked up an Innokin VTR from a higher end local B&M (and very competitive with all but the most cut-throat online options) for myself. My wife immediately asked for me to start showing her options for a vv or vv/vw unit for her (probably the iTast vv v3.0). She also ordered a short, "blingy" Ego 650mah and a matching CE5 clearo for a "purse" PV.

Overall I've spent somewhere shy of $400 the first month. We were spending about $300/month on smokes (ugh!). The vaping cost will go dramatically down if i can avoid becoming a gear-head. More importantly, I have not had a cigarette since 12/20. My wife has smoked three packs, going from two packs/day to an average of one/week. She had cravings to buy a pack last week but resisted. She's gone ten full days without a cigarette. If you've been a heavy smoker, or known one who has tried to quit, you know how huge that is.

Lurking here and watching way too many YouTube videos really helped educate me so I could try to introduce this to my wife in a way that made it an easy and reliable option for her. I am beyond thrilled and continue to cross my fingers.

Welcome to the forums :)

I know what you mean, I've went from Ego-s (two kits, 6 batteries and numerous tanks) - not to mention about £200 on liquid, then a APV within two months. Don't want to add it up really! I think I've found my sweet spot with a Vamo V5 and a Kanger Pro Tank 2, I'm hoping this keeps me satisfied long term.

It is kinda addictive though...find myself eyeing up new mods even though I've just started on the VAMO and am perfectly happy with it *VBG*

:D

Congratulation on getting this far though, the health improvements alone are worth the money spent (this is how I am justifying it to myself and the significant other ha-ha)

Welcome to the forum. The start up cost can be expensive but don't let that discourage you. I figured how much i spent on cigs and set a monthly budget for my ecig purchases and have never went over it. If I want a expensive battery i save it up for a couple months and vape cheap liquid/rebuild coils. Even if i was spending more than what I did smoking cigs i would still be doing this as getting off the Marlboros was the best thing i did.
