Hello, I'm new to vaping and I need some advice:
I got an IPV mini 2 with a herakles tank, it worked amazingly for about 3 weeks, I alternate between 35W and 55W (prefer 55W), I burnt the .6ohm coil that came installed one day that I kept vaping and didn't realize I was out of liquid (I noticed because of the strong burnt flavor, only one drag, then I turned it off), when I got back home I replaced the coil for the .2ohm that comes with the tank as a spare, it worked fine for about 2 days, on the second day I started getting dry hits with a mild burnt taste, I replaced that coil with another .2ohm (I had a 5-pack) but this time it tasted burnt from the go, I put yet another fresh .2ohm and the same. The readings are normal on the mod display, but the atomizer seemed to be overheating, it would make the zizzle sound as soon as I press the fire button, the only other thing out of the ordinary the day my system failed was; I used the mod to charge 3 different batteries through the work day at the office, as each was full I put the next one in and so on. I have qty.2 efest 2100mAh and qty. 1 Imren 2600mAh... now I bought a new tank to try. Any insight In the meantime? I would really appreciate any info. and suggestions as to what could be damaged in my system - Thank you.

Sounds like a wicking issue. Maybe your wick cant keep up with the power you're trying to vape at. Or maybe you just keep hitting the fire button before the wicks were completely saturated. A lot of these new tank systems are using replacement coils with cotton wicks. Cotton is way better than the old silica wicks but cotton burns very easily when dry while silica is very hard to dry burn

Are you priming the coils? I mean really priming them well. Especially if you use high vg juice. I've never used the herakles tank but with all my others I soak the wicks and let them sit for 10-15 min. Then put it in a full tank and let it sit for another 5 or 10 min. Also are you starting out at 55w with a new coil? If so try starting out with lower power and slowly work up to 55w. Gives the coil time to break in. I've never had that issue using this method. Just an idea

Batteries make all the difference too. From what I've read the two battery types you are using are not the best choice of batteries IMO. Also batteries are not something you want to cut corners on. Get good batteries always. VTC 4 or the Samsung 25R's are the ones I would recommend. If your vaping higher wattage on your ipv mini2 I would definitely go for the VTC4's.

On a side note I thought the ipv mini v2 only read down to .3 ohm. I might be wrong on that.

Good luck on resolving your issue!

I just tried a brand new tank, soaked the coil for 5 minutes, filled the tank and let it sit for 30 minutes and it still gives me dry hits every time... I guess I'll try a brand new battery next and see what happens. could a bad battery be causing the problem? I was charging the mod at work and I know we have power issues all the time since we run heavy machinery there, could a power surge maybe damage the batteries or even the mod? Thanks everyone.

What kind of new tank did you get? What's is the ohm of your coil? What wattage are you starting out at? You have got to give us more information for us to be able to help you correctly. IMO it would probably be best if you youtubed your tank and watch some how to videos on priming your coils and what wattage to start a fresh coil out at and slowly bump up the wattage. Also your juice plays a part in it as well. Higher VG based juice are thicker and tend to not wick well with most of your standard prebuilt coils. Like I said it would probably be best to you tube your tank and research. Good luck!

It is one of the same herakles tanks that I used from the start, the coil that comes already attached is .6ohm. with the first tank I started at 35W and eventually 55W, it worked great for the first 3 weeks or so, i did some research before and according to all the info i found the ipv mini 2 is very compatible with the herakles tank, and the tank can also handle heavy usage and high power, but then I had to replace the coil and used the .2ohm which also comes with the tank, that coil was working fine as well, it was right after I charged the batteries at the office that I started getting dry hits, but I haven't been able to find out whether it may be related. .. thanks

i also i like herakles tank but i think ipv mini is not good

Why? What's your opinion of the ipv mini? I'm just curious if you know something I need to know.

I think its a great mod. Price point is great. Great construction. It definitely has some girth to it. Nice weight and size. Only 2 draw backs I have seen and I own both the original and the 70w is that the paint chips something fierce. You will definitely need to get a skin or strip the paint and polish. Also the battery cover is kinda jinky and hard to get the threads started when you change batteries. You have to be careful not to strip the threading. Other than those points it is an awesome mod IMO and looks great too!

Good morning good fellas, it turns out it was just the e liquid that somehow went bad. I changed the liquid and it eventually tasted normal after vaping out the bad juice, then I tried the same bad juice again and in fact it is bad, I never thought it could be that since I had just bought it 3 days before, and it's one of the ones I always vape, but yeah that's all it was... I hope this thread helps other vapers troubleshoot in the future. Thanks to everyone who shared their insight , thanks to this experience I learned some more about vaping.
PS: according to a local store, when the batteries go bad they actually lose power, they would never fire stronger...

I have had a Herakles for a couple months. Not sure exactly but I got it as soon as they hit the market. I've never had a dry hit from it. I use max vg 90% of the time because it's the only way my 2 ADVs come and I chain vape. I usually use the .2 coil because it's rated for 30 to 75 watts and my device only goes to 80 watts. But at 30 watts it doesn't work correctly at all. I think you need to run 50 or higher for the best results. This tank has the fastest" break in" time of any i've got which is a lot. On a new coil I prime it and take 3 hits at 35 and 3 hits at 45 and gradually go up. What's impressive is the.6 coils are rated for 50 to 100 watts and its a smooth Vape. Personally I prefer to run this tank from 50 to 60 watts because I don't like a hot vape. I've never had a wicking issue with it. Currently I have Herakles, Arctic, Atlantis V1 and V2. in my opinion the Herakles blows the others away on flavor and I'm a flavor guy. Good luck with it and may your day be a nice CLOUDY day lol
