All of a sudden it just died on me. I've tried several different batteries and it won't turn on. It'll light up the logo when I first put it in but that's it. There have been a couple of times it'll turn on&I can get 3-4 hits then the display will freeze up and I have to remove the battery. Once I replace it I can't get the mod to turn back on. It's still under warranty but I wanted to see if there is a quick fix first so I won't have to go without it

Hi, and welcome!

Relax and lets see if we can get you going.
This is a common issue for mods and your problem is likely just a few parts that need cleaning.
First remove any Battery.
1) Wipe all batteries +/- contacts with a Alcohol wipe or paper towel soaked in alcohol.
2) Next wipe the inside threads of the Battery tube cap holder.
3) Next wipe the outside threads of the cap and carefully clean the inside of the cap paying close attention to the raised center.(that is negative contact)
4) Now you need a long or lengthened Q-tip - tape 2 together if needed.
Dip in alcohol and wipe the Positive contact up inside the Battery tube - Repeat process.
5) Give everything a minute or two to dry, install a freshly charged battery and power up.

If the common issue, things should be back to new. :thumb:
I own several mini mini2 and go through this routine about once a month - always works for me.

Good luck

This did not help the issue although it did need cleaning. After everything was clean it turned on but immediately started jumping through the memory wattages then froze up. I contacted the warranty company and they said it's a fairly common problem and what they usually end up doing is just replacing the whole mod

Odd they would say that, we have a load of owners on the forums and very few UN-correctable issues.
Heck, If they will give you a new one - Go for it!:D

I did have to open one and clean the contact with a fine sand paper - Easy job.

I have one and have opened it to replace the 510 and know the wiring. I would crack it open and see if there are any bad solder connections. The wires are exposed and right on top so it won't be hard to find if something is wrong. You don't need much soldering ability either, it's pretty sloppy in there anyways. Looking at it shouldn't void your warranty, especially cause they won't know
