¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don't ask, it's a long, dumb story. But I dropped my ipv mini and it landed in a half-full cup of watered down juice drink. I carefully opened it up and cleaned it out the best I could with a little rubbing alcohol on inner casing. Not really sticky inside as far as I can see. I did not try to slide out the screen/chip board as it would not come out easily so I didn't want to press my luck and totally damage it.

the problem I'm having with it is while the power button seems to be working fine, the tactile buttons aren't. It's a hit or a miss if they work when you press them and sometimes they just work on their own without pressing them at all. I don't know if the tactile buttons are toast or if maybe they just have some liquid in them.

At this point, I'm writing it off as a possible loss and because of that, I am thinking bout opening it up and submerging it in luke warm water and sloshing it around for a few seconds, then let it dry for a few days and see what happens.

What do you think about this solution? Or if you have any other solutions, I would love to hear them.

I feel so stooooooopid, but such is life, I guess. Thankfully this thing is supper easy to disassemble.

Well, if the drink was sticky (sweet, like soda pop or OJ) then the buttons might be sticking because of the sugar in the drink. I suppose if you are going for broke at this point you could rinse it thoroughly and allow it to dry completely and try again. Nothing to lose, right? Not really sure how I feel about recommending that course of action, but I would try it if the mod were mine.

Welcome. I keep a gallon at the house to clean up my expensive R/C toys. Never hurt any of my on board electronics I'm not sure if it would attack any light plastic like a screen protector, but none of mine were ever affected. I remember getting a little overspray on my 12 channel transmitter screen and it didn't hurt it but I did clean it off right away.

I hope all turned out well for the OP.
Just five minutes ago, I dropped my IPV Mini V2, which I have had for three days, in the toilet.:censored: Fortunately, clean water, no floaties. I have had my phone end up in THAT before - Once, I stood up from the can, hit the flush lever, and as I did my phone, which had worked it's way out of my side pocket while I was doing my thing, fell into the now flushing toilet:-x. I didn't even think, just reacted; I thrust my hand into the bowl, and pulled my phone to safety. Honestly, I was as concerned with getting something stuck in the drain as I was with recovering my phone.
My reaction to both 'electronics-in-the-loo' was the same. Fast as I could, I pulled the battery out and gave it a good shake. The phone recovered fine. We'll see about the IPV. At least it has screws holding it together as opposed to just being pressed or plast-welded(?) together, so I can take it apart if needs be.
