Hi all,

After a few weeks of looking over box mods iv finally broke a list down to 2. The ipv v2 and the sigelei 50w. I'm going to be buying a igo w4 rda to start with. I'm wondering if anybody has both mods or one of then and could let me know which one they recommend?

I'm aware both now have 100w new models and both have there own little issues but I'm set on one of these little beauties.

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum, Smithy
Haven't had an IPV, but I have had a Sigelei 50W. Three of them, to be exact. The first two couldn't make a resistance measurement accurately, and I mean reading a 1.8 ohm coil as something like 6 or 7 ohms, on any press of the button. Actual power output was all over the place. The third one worked quite well - for four days - then the display would go south until you took the battery out, put it back in, then work again for a few minutes. I'm no longer a fan of Sigelei :)

thanks for that. Iv read a few reviews and it seems to be a common problem. Quite a big problem. Iv heard the ipv is badly made and others have said it's brilliant.

No experience with either unit. I do have an ipv3 and so far it is smooth but it just arrived today. I would just dig deep and read through the threads. Truthfully the price difference from the Sigelei 50w and the 100w would have me at the 100 watt if I went Sigelei.

yeah it had me too but the problem is I'm struggling to find a unit in the UK so I have up and looking at the 50w unit.

My bad I did not notice you were in the UK. I have heard more good things about the IPV2 Version 2 than I have the Sigelei 50w. Seems you want to get the version 2 of the IPV2 from everything I have read.

I think you'll enjoy your ipv2. I bought one yesterday and after using an MVP v2 for the last few weeks, it's a great change. So much more available power in a box that's barely bigger and a little bit lighter weight. As for the quality issues, mine seems fine except for a little
discoloration on the Pioneer 4You logo on the skinny side.
So far I'm loving mine. Tonight I'm gonna build a coil or 2 in the Mephisto and give it a good workout.

So got my ipv 2 today, wow, so much power for something so small! Bought a magma clone rda and it's a great piece of kit. Built my first single coil at 1.3 ohms.

Side note, my coil is burning strait away on one side and taking a quite for the other side to start lighting up, anybody got any advice?

Sounds to me like you need to take a pair of small needle nose pliers or a pair of tweezers and squeeze the coil tighter. Press the fire button until the entire coil is glowing, release the fire button and immediately squeeze and hold the coil for a few seconds.
I learned how to build coils by watching Rip Trippers on YouTube. Watch some videos if my explanation isn't clear enough. Good luck and have fun building.

Thanks man. I actually watch his vids. I stripped it and started again. Coil was glowing perfectly, put my cotton through and it's started glowing on one side again, trial and error I think lol

You're welcome. You know what they say, practice makes perfect, or in my case it at least makes better. Lol

Kind of random but in another thread you mentioned the xtar 18650 "VTC4" possibly not fitting in the IPV3. I am in the same boat and have an IPV3 on the way, but wanted to make sure these batteries would fit. Have you tried them?

I recently got the updated IPV2 50 watt box - love it! Floating 510 pin, the box and fit are way better than the first release - Just make sure you get the updated version!!!!

I use this and my Cloudpor DNA30 box all the time - Both are reliable and solid performers.

OMG missed the other threads - Its been a long day.
