Here's some info I found from the WSJ
The California based company, which develops, produces and sells electronic cigarette products such as custom vapors, high quality e-liquids, and exclusive vaporizer adjustments, proudly announced that the release of its custom designed battery has sold out. The product was displayed at the World Vapor Expo in Miami and also at the Vape Summit, which was held in Las Vegas.

The Vapor Hub International Inc (OTCMKTS:VHUB) announced selling 2,000 units of The Vamped Vapor Cell, which are 40 amp 18650 batteries at the events. The cells were priced at around $7 per unit. Vapor Hub announced that the battery was well accepted by not only the vapor stores that were present at the expos, but also by the community.

Addressing Market Needs

Vapor Hub International Inc (OTCMKTS:VHUB)’s Chief Operating Officer, Kyle Winther, said that the product was a result of his endeavor to design a superior battery that was immediately available to vapor stores across the world. He said that traditional batteries required him to place orders with Chinese brokers and then wait for around 3 to 6 weeks because the batteries were mostly out of stock. This drove him to manufacture and source quality batteries, he said. He seeks to address market need for these cells and expects to provide it with readily available supplies. Winther claims that the company’s newly designed and manufactured cells are the most powerful 18650 batteries available in the market.

Vapor Hub International Inc (OTCMKTS:VHUB)’s Director of Sales, Justin Moreno, said that the batteries, which will provide customers the desired level of amperage, are sourced directly from the manufacturer. He added that the company’s present capacity is 120,000 a month. The company also aims to sell the batteries in the global battery with delivery promise of the same day, so as to satisfy customers’ needs.

Wall Street hyperbole...IDK

True sale jargon. If that isn't a load I don't know what is.

"...sourced directly from the manufacturer..." So no specs, and their MFG source is proprietary too. Pshhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Possibly unscrupulous, but genius; wish I would have thought of it, slapping the word vapor on a 650'.

Thanks for the scoop so far, I was truly speculative on actual performance of said battery but with the recent jumps in battery (especially 18650) advancement I wanted to see if anyone had even heard of them. I wonder if any of the flashlight modders have even picked up on this batt and would be willing to test it out to see what the true numbers are.

The saddest part so far is the safety factor of these types of claims, even though seasoned vapers would still run the data before operating anywhere near that limit, I fear more for those who "think" they are seasoned.

Admittedly I jumped into sub-ohm vaping fairly quickly but I had some battery experience coming from r/c cars and just below 1.00 Ohm was still within the limits of 10A batteries. The last thing this community needs is for vaping manufacturers and suppliers to be peddling gear that is a totally unsubstantiated and potential hazard battery.

There is a grey line that some other batteries walk with labeling using the pulse vs. continuous discharge rating. So I guess the jury is still out pending data but highly unlikely to be promising.

I will eat my words if they are truly 40a continuous but I'll also bet dollars to donuts they aint.

It's shocking to see how easily specs are getting twisted and overstated in vaping (not just batteries: v-drop, plating thickness, even mtrl specs, the list goes on).

For a lot of us on the forums it's not a huge deal, we can all smell a rat; but most of the new vapers coming up go by word of mouth...

Pretty much nailed it there...well said

My only real experience with sub ohm vaping is my electrical ticket , a very good understanding of just what amperage can do and the fact that I can recite ohm's law in my sleep...deep sub ohm vaping is a dangerous trend for unscrupulous vendors to be capitalizing on. .. just saying

i recieved my battery magnets today, wow these things ar strong!!..

anyway i quickly took out my fuse, unscrewed my fuseholder from the bottom of my reo, stuck a couple of magnets to the bottom of my battery and installed but no power, scratched my head and reinstalled my original setup as i only have one pv and my W6 also came today which i've been fully enjoying :D... soo, what have i missed? i thought it would just fire up as though the magnets were part of the body of the reo, although i did also notice the mag's wouldnt stick to the alu!

maybe my button throw changed slightly or the magnets rolled around to a painted surface taking the battery with, eitherway i'm good now! iron lungs are being tested :D

Pictures of your application? I am wondering if you are still using the fuse or just magnets...kind of lost.

im not using any protection :sneeky: no spring or fuse, only magnets under the battery to build up the gap, i'm sure it would all stay in there without rolling if i slid the door back on but....

i can give you a pic if you like? unless you dont understand the above!? :)

Someone's gone all "dark side"[emoji1]

I've done it more than once on some of my "personal best min. vdrop tests"...and only after I made sure that my gear was solid and true... the kanthal will pop if there's a significant issue... but that setup isn't a daily runner

Why would you run it without any fuse or spring? Curious!!! Did I miss something along the way here?

i have a passion for performance ;)
