Mmmm, Let me introduce myself here, As of two days ago I smoked a pack a day for the last 20 years. Happy to give that up... I have been a lurker here for some time now, a LOT of information to digest, liquids, models, etc. After reading a LOT, I decided on making my first purchase, a JOYE 510 from Innovapor. This comes with ECOpure liquid which (supposedly) uses VG and is PG free. I say supposedly because on the intellicig website they make the same claim (the makers of ECOpure) but in their own FAQ also state their liquids have up to 50% PG in them, which I really dont know what to believe..

Anyhow I have been vaping very little when compared to actual smoking. A few puffs now and then keeps the nic-monster at bay. I have noticed no side effects, save one: A pronounced irregular heartbeat. Its like a weird bit where theres a slight pause followed by a very strong beat, followed by normal rythm, then it does it again. Under normal cigs I had this once in a great while, like maybe once every two days, but after one day of vaping, I am getting this about every 2 minutes or more. I will mention that there is no associated pain, no tightness, no headaches, no dizziness, just the odd beat.

I would appreciate any info anyone might have on this. I figured using VG based woudl be better right off the bat, but now Im not so sure. Oh, I'll save everyone the obvious; Yes, I have an appt with my Dr in 3 weeks from now. (earliest I could get) If I have to stop using this wonderful device, I will go right back to regular smoking, which I dont want to do.

Sorry for posting this here, but being Im new, I cant post anywhere else...

Keep the appointment with your doctor!

No worries about that :) Its time for my diabeties check up anyhow, just get to give him the ole "Guess what Im doing now Doc" talk...

Im just interested in seeing if I can somehow 'fix' this in the next three weeks. Im on 16ml (medium) Ecopure now, I figured I dinna want the high level stuff as I want to eventually quit anyhow. Is it possible I am actually getting more of a hit from my 510 now than i was on regular cigs? This would make sense, then cutting down the mix would only benefit.

So I have my 510 and 5 pre-filled carts, uh, anyone know how to un-fill a cart?

I have a history of heart palpitations, so i understand what you're saying. However, taking up vaping did not alter my symptoms at all because i've been careful about the dosage. I know you say you've been vaping "less" than you smoked, but because its less intense than smoking you're probably getting a lot more nicotine than you realize, and this CAN mess with your heart.

When i have a palpitation my heart rhythm generally stays the same, which means its more likely to be ok (don't know yet as they're having trouble diagnosing). When you have one, on the other hand, your heart rhythm changes significantly, which can be serious... My point is

 STOP VAPING AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!!!

I can't stress that enough. You're consuming too much nicotine and its straining your heart

Go see a dr as soon as you can, it can take up to/over a month to get into a cardiologist. It may be something that is progressing and just seems related to vaping. I think you actually get less nic from vaping, especially if you arent smoking it as much as cigs. Dont think pg vs vg would have anything to do with it, but dont listen to a soul here, go to the Dr. Your general practioner may even hook you up with a halter monitor, which will monitor your heartbeat for 24 hrs and that will definitely show if its vaping related, especially if you have the irregular beat in your sleep. Cant stress it enough, please go see a Dr as soon as absolutely possible. If they do hook you up to a monitor, do document what you are doing at certain times, so they can associate irregular patterns with what you are doing..ie, vaping, stressing, drinking coffee...etc.

You mean 16 mg? That IS high level for some, everybody reacts differently to different amounts. Yes, you're definitely getting more nicotine than from cigs. It always seems like you get more from analogs, but that's because its nicotine mixed with all the other chemicals from smoking plus carbon monoxide.

To unfill a cart, pull the stuffing out and rinse it through. Then blot it dry with a paper towel and stuff it back in

It could also be your body reacting to not having all the other nasties that are in cigs that it's used to getting. I know it's horrible to say, but try a reg cig in between vaping to cut back more slowly instead of dropping those chemicals cold turkey. Let us know how things go. We worry about folks on here :).

Alternatively, to save wasting the liquid, put the stuffing in a syringe and squeeze out the liquid into an empty bottle. Then you can cut the liquid with some VG/PG (whatever is your favourite poison) and re-use.

OMG. I tried exactly this about an hour ago. THis worked, tho im not happy it did, as I really want to stop analogs totally. The HB went back to normal, everything was fine until I decided to take a few puffs of the 510 again. I cant believe that a real cig fixed it. No, not happy bout that at all.

I'll try cutting down the juice; see if that works....

Definately see your doctor for a checkup. But I can tell you of my very similar experiance. I've always had heart palpitations all my life (which is what you seem to be experiancing based on your description). Most heart palpitations are harmless, but annoying. My doctor ran some cardiovascular tests on me and everything turned out fine. HOWEVER, it turned out to be the nicotine that was the culprit. I had the same thing with the patches and the gum when I tried that route.

What was happening with me was my body was absorbing more nicotine using patches, gums, the pv, etc. When you smoke a real analog, the nicotine absorption is less pronounced because there are thousands of other chemicals and tar that inhibit the lungs ability to absorb it. With the PV, you don't get the chemicals and tars and your lungs take in more nicotine. The same holds true with the NRTs such as patches and gums, although the nicotine intake is not in the lungs

Nicotine is a stimulant, like caffiene, so your heart would tend to beat faster. People who have a large history of heart palpitations tend to have more episodes of occurances.

Although don't mess around with it. Get checked. I'm pretty sure you're like me and has had a history of palpitations in the past. Believe it or not, you do your heart a lot more damage smoking analogs than vaping, especially with a history of heart palpitations. You just don't feel it.

I'm not a doctor, but I will tell you what happens to me. All of my life I have had it happen once in a while where my heart will go: Bump -pause- bumpbumpbump. I'm not sure what in the world makes it do that, but it doesn't happen very often. I have had an ekg a couple of times, most recently I had to take one before my doc put me on this new medication since it will increase heart rate and blood pressure. But anyway, I tell the docs that this happens sometimes, but everyone seems to think that it is normal. I still don't like it since I have heard that my dads side of the family has had many heart problems, but everything seems to be fine.

Either way, ask your doctor about it, especially if it happens a lot. Mine happens very rarely and all of my tests come out fine, even to the point of where my doctor was willing to put me on this medication for something else.

Your symptom is one of your valves isnt closing all the way and letting blood back through, causing your heart to work harder to pump out the additional blood. Go see a dr. even if you are absolutely certain that it is nicotine related. Many ppl have died from not addressing these types of symptoms when they are first noticed. Im going through it as we speak and I can tell you first hand, when these symptoms increase in severity, and they probably will but hopefully not, its enough to freak you out into a panic attack which causes your heart to beat even faster. If nothing else, do it for your own peace of mind, please bring this up to your Dr.

Hello,

This happened for me also, I'm not a doctor but I supposed it's nicotine related, I smoke 1 pack a day and I got the 510 with 24mg eliquid (from JC).

The first week I smoke 4 analogs per day (1 on the morning, another while walking back to office after lunch and the last one before bed. Between them I vaped a lot... But then during the weekend I only vaped.

That night I had like 3 episodes of irregular heartbeats, was difficult for me to sleep and I even got a bit of a panic attack... I'm back to analogs now... but I'll resume vaping as soon as I get home... let's see how it goes this time...

I have an appointment with my doc for next friday so I'm planning to vape a lot during next week, just to get there with a good worst case scenario. :p

Anyways, I supposed 24mg for a pack a day is too much, also I have been drinking more coffee... My guess is that the increase of caffeine, coffee and maybe blood pressure are the cause...

I recommend you (as everyone else here) to see a doctor and if everything is ok, try lowering you nic. Good Luck!

I also had some chest pains at the beginning but they fade away in a couple of days, I supposed it was my body getting used to the PG, and I'm getting more gasses too, which is a bit creepy specially when they get in weird places :)

See a doctor. Don't screw around with asking people on here.

Yup, what he said.

With that being said go online and order some juice with a lower nicotine rating. Then you can use that to refill the cartridges. It's much cheaper and I've found them to have better flavor as well. The 510 is a nice device - it sounds like you're on the right track there.

Also try calling your doctor's office back and tell them you cannot wait for three weeks. You might be able to see another doctor in the practice sooner. Better to see a doctor you don't know than none at all.

Good luck.
