Is a Completely Lexan Box A Bad Idea?

Hi Everyone,

So I've been thinking about a few different things with my pending box mod and I was wondering how everyone felt about a completely Lexan box? I think it would look really sleek if I was to tint the entire thing. It also has the advantage of not having to drill a hole for the DNA40 Chip's screen, so one less hole to drill, woohoo! But my question really is about how solid a box like that can be? Should I ditch the idea and stick with a wood box with a lexan cover? Switch to thinking about using acrylic (or any other material that can be tinted) instead? Finally, how should I secure it all together? Will Epoxy be good enough for everything or is superglue a smarter idea for the box? Any input anyone can provide would be great because I've already pulled the trigger on all my components and the only thing I'm still wrestling with is what to make the box out of.

SCIGRIP 4 10308 Acrylic Solvent Cement, Water-thin, 1/4 Pint Can with Screw-on Cap, Clear: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific works well with lexan. I have a friend that gave me scrap from his work, 3 4x3 foot sheets. I've built a few mods with it, and they are holding up well. My daily carry is a vamo build. I'm just completing a 2 18650 straight battery mod. I cut my pieces on a band saw and sand the edges with emery paper. normal drill bits and the dermal cut it like butter... I've cut with my diamond wheel enough, I can almost do a straight line..
warning, you have to use a syringe to weld, and a slip leaves a nice white smear..

hi mechanizedzen !
not used any of that for cases jet ..but build a few juce tanks for a bottom feeder experiments .
used a heat gunn to bend some of both the plexy and the lexan.in a u shape and sanded the edges to fit . then glued end pieces with the Weldon 4 ...works great and no leaks either.the Weldon 4 works fine with both . I prefere lexan it is better for cases probably to.
