Started at 18mg juice, might have been a bit much for me to start off with 12 would have been an wiser choice. Anyhow I'm down at 6 now and the next time I'm ordering juice it will be 0mg.

I would recommend you to use at least 12-18mg to start off with if you are used to a pack a day. It will surely make it easier for you to cut down on those cigarettes!

Hi,

I decided to go with no nicotine for two reasons: 1) Here in Canada, nicotine e-cigs are not approved by Health Canada (same as FDA in the U.S.) and any company dealing in nicotine e-cigs is doing so illegally. Lots of Canadians order from the U.S., but shipments often get stopped at the border and people have lost lots of money because of that. 2) Logically, at least for me, it doesn't make a lot of sense to vape nicotine. I want to rid my body of nicotine, too, and I have a feeling I'd never give up nicotine e-cigs if I start vaping those. So...I'm going to see what happens.

Hi and welcome to the Forum :)

We do have a Canadian Forum section that you will find here: Canada Forum

It seems as though there is some confusion within the Canadian government whether or not nicotine in e-liquid is legal or not. You are not supposed to have it imported into Canada but you can purchase it inside the country? I just did some quick reading and it really is a mess over in your country. Finding information out is just ... ugh.

Anyway, you can read all you want over in that section. After you get your post count up, you should be able to get answers over there.... Just don't spam the new members section just to get that count up :)

I actually didn't know that it wasn't allowed there.. should be though.
Talking from my experience it's easier to lower the amount of nicotine in your ejuice than reducing the amount of ciggarets smoked everyday. I don't see it as a problem if you can't get off the e-cigs as long as you're cigarette-free. It might even turn out to be a great hobby for you!
But sure if the law is keeping you from vaping juice with nicotine you shouldn't and vaping non nicotine juice while you are cutting down gradually is much better than not cutting down at all.

Congratulations on coming so far!

Yeah being a Canadian vaper is kind of tough...I found a local guy who sells Nic base and I've started making my own juice as a result. He says it's legal as long as it's manufactured in Canada and NOT imported.

So I started making my own juices at 12 mg and am down to 2mg right now. I plan on getting it down to 1mg by the end of the month, and eventually so low that I can just switch to nic free ejuice.

Keep on trucking tho! Do what works best for you. We're all different, and we all function differently :)

unless its your choice to make your own juice, there are plenty of ecig online (canadian based) and retail stores that sell eliquid with nic in it

...If so, how are you doing with them? I started vaping no nicotine last Friday and I'm down to only three or four "real" cigarettes a day. I'm pretty happy about that, considering I've smoked about a pack a day for almost 40 years. Has anyone quit "real" cigs for good using no nicotine e-cigs?

No i haven't. I have 0mg nicotine eliquid and i'm unable to rely on that to get me through the day. I'm at 6mg-8mg and thats perfect for me.

I see myself vaping at this nic level for the rest of my life or just quitting altogether to be honest. But thats just me.
