I still remember better times, when I would open a "General Discussion" forum and see only today's posts. Yesterday's posts I could find only at the bottom of the second page. What I see now? Only ten (10!) threads are recent. And at the end of the first (FIRST!) page I see 3 threads that are four (4!) days old. Sad, isn't it? I loved ECF...

People have asked that before. Sure, traffic has slowed considerably, but that also means the bandwidth costs are less than they used to be. :)

IIRC, the owners have previously committed to keeping it alive.

Some threads are still very much alive and fast, other have slowed down considerably. I think that this constant anti-vaping drumbeat in the media (it's gonna kill you) is having an effect on people.

This topic comes up every so often, it's not new, been going that way for a few years, think it's a combination of things

People move on or are moved on, some just find what works for them, some give up vaping altogether.

Also years ago, ECF was the only big vaping forum, and only a few around, now there is other big forums and 100's of smaller ones, so people find new homes that suit them, maybe in their own country.

I thought things would pick up more due to Covid and people stuck at home, but that doesn't seemed to happen.

Nothing stays the same forever. Especially on the internet.

Still a lot of new members show up looking for advice and encouragement.

True, even if most the questions have been asked and answered a dozen times.

Several years ago, I was (still) on a forum that did a lot with DIYing of vapes. It's still there but the last post was about Sept/Oct last year. That is really sad as much of the information is workable still, especially with what is coming around the corner..

If a user could turn the pages by sliding their finger across from the bottom right hand corner of the screen leftwards then i'd maybe agree to calling it a book, maybe !. But adapting the name from an actual book with pictures of people in to a website where the pages don't turn (which would/could have been the hook here) doesn't actually translate at all. Still, you can't expect much from someone who's only actual talent is typing. You know what they say "all work and no play makes jack a social ......". And besides that, the whole thing reeks of plagiarism. The name "Facebook" (the hook) already existed and was thought up by someone else entirely. Stinks doesn't it !?.

I used to bump my A-Z everyday (when it drops off the first page).

Since the introduction of illegal recreational drugs here, now it's about once a week.

No one wants anything to do with, or be associated with illegal recreational drugs.
Your A-Z makes the ECF search function virtually useless if the item being searched is listed in your A-Z. The first 14 pages of the search results can be your threads naming things with no information attached to the things you are naming. Its frustrating. Fortunately google search doesnt seem to throw up your threads.
ECF has some good info if you search for it but apart from a very few current topics most of it is archived from about 4+ yrs ago.

Vaping is made up of a very few easily learned "skills" there isnt much too it.
Guitar, photography, artistic endeavours, shooting, cycling etc are life long and ongoing challenges and keep people engaged and improving for decades. I think after a certain point for most people they find their sweet spot with vaping very quickly and then there isnt much to keep them coming back to ecf unless they're gear fixated.

I never had an account there. ;)

I had one for like 3 months and that was 10 years ago.
As of right now i have no twiiter, facebook, snapchat, instagram and whatever other social media brain sucking social media thingy i might have left out.

Truth be told i don't even own a smartphone,to many already around.

Funny story,i walked out on a date a couple months back, she was checking her phone every 5 minutes so i called the waiter, told him to put my steak in a baguette (we call that in Spain a ''pepito'') paid and walked out.

For 3 weeks i had no contact with her,saw her on the street and said she was still waiting for an apology from me,yeah as if!!
