Is it better to make each Flavor Separate?

Say I want 80/20 VG/PG blends. I make a Strawberry at 80/20, then a banana at 80/20, and then combine the 2?

I'm new to this DIY, I bought all Capella Flavoring, and I followed some recipes, but doesn't seem to taste nearly as good at OTC juices.

Hi @SimonC86 . You can make separate juices and then combine them, though it's not the method most diy'ers use. In my opinion all juices get better with steeping. I find it rare a juice is really that vapeable immediately after mixing.

There is a keyword activated search box in the upper right above your name and avatar. Practically any vape related word or phrase will work in it giving sometimes hundreds of results. I use it often.

On Reddit DIY website there is a "sidebar" on the right, they have links to recipes by manufacturer, including Capellas. Here is a newly released Capellas recipe, it's good but I don't know if it's accurate as the clone:

Thanks for the Reply, Yep I have read about steeping. Sad thing is I am out of Juice, and I don't want to pay 12.99 for 30ML at the Store anymore. I quit Cigarettes, just to find out I spent $26.00 on Juice in 3 Days. I quit because after paying under a Dollar for Cigarettes when I was abroad, I wasn't going to pay $8 a pack anymore. I tried to speed up the steeping Process by putting it in warm water for a few hours.

I made 30 ML of Capellas
NY Cheese Cake 13%
Strawberry 8%
Marshmallow3.5%
Lemon 2%

It's Vapeable, but there's a spicy (Not like hotsauce spicy, more like cinnamon spicy) note to it.

I guess I'm going to have to make something that is bearable to start with and have 1/2 of what i make steep for a week or 2.

There are also a lot more TFA recipes out there, so I will be putting in an order with them as well tomorrow.

I use an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to steep my juices (tried the crock pot, wasn't crazy about it). I am looking at getting a milk frother next, as I've read it does wonders in mixing juice. (if you get an ultra sonic cleaner , get one that has the 8 minute timer, 15 cycles of 8 minutes is what I do)

Make some stand alone flavors, steep them, experiment,make sure the mix don’t taste like diesel fuel, then play with the expensive stuff.

I have been DIYing for a very long time and haven't had store bought juice in months. Someone sent me so high end juices and they really didn't taste much different then what I have been making. I love only having to make an order every six months for VG and PG and some flavorings. I have enough nic in freezer for years! I average about 60 dollars every six months because I wrap all my coils and use cotton.

Blows my mind that I was spending almost 200 dollars a MONTH when I was smoking...all that wasted money.......

Just checked out the French Site, Some of their top Recipes have flavors from European Companies, Inawera, Savuer de Vap. Could those be replaced with Capella or TFA and such?

Yes, Cigarettes are so expensive now in the USA that it's totally not worth it to smoke anymore. Vaping is way more tasty. I do smoke though, today I had 3 Cigarettes. 2 weeks ago I was smoking over a pack a day as I have for the past 15 years.

I love my ultrasonic cleaner. I got it at Harbor Freight for $75. I do 15 8 minute cycles (2 hours), keeping the temperature under 150 degrees (nic breaks down above 150). Then I let the juice "breathe" with the cap off over night. In my opinion it takes a minimum of a week off the slow steep. The water bath thins the mix so that the flavors molecules can be more active to shake hands, and the vibration is like shaking to also help mixing.

I've been using a Hand Drill to "Shake" it. I will look into the Ultrasonic Cleaner, could be a nifty toy.

With a Frother you need to make larger batches. That is on my to get list. I have my beakers coming tomorrow from Amazon. Sucks living in Hawaii, Amazon Prime was a waste of 80 Dollars.

When I started vaping we didnt have access to all these flavors, so I got sick of the few usable flavors that could be found at the grocery store, vaped non flavored for a while. Mostly have been buying retail ejuice for the past 5-6 yrs.

So Im a n00b, checking out flavorings now, and finding a lot of variance between brands, lol.

Have you tried diluting the nic and tasting it without flavoring?
I have been buying my Nic from Levi AKA "supertrucker" at Xtreme Vaping ever since he went into business (2009-2010?), every shipment I have taken a whiff when I open the bottle. When I ordered a small bottle from RTS I took a whiff and it just about made my eyes water, but can't taste any off flavors. I just assume their supplier might use a different method to extract the nic, or perhaps they are purging with co2, no clue really, lol.

But do the "rules" governing good vs bad for YOU. Equate to the same Good or Bad for others? There are rules governing safety, ie nic levels, certain chemicals, ect. But for flavor, or the definition of what is a GOOD flavor or even a good VAPE for that matter. Rules do not apply.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one that uses canning jars! To me it's so much easier working with the vg that way

My suggestion would be to try different flavor manufactures, not all Strawberry / banana taste the same.
