Is it Detox related?

I'm 24 days analog free, 26 days vaping. I use a 520-T with mostly cartos. I vape an e-liquid I mixed myself from my first few purchases that equate to approximately 20/80 pg/vg (for smooth TH and full vapor) at 24 mgs. The flavor is menthol tobacco with a hint of mint chocolate chip.

I'm in my mid-fifties and therefore well beyond the acne/oily skin days. I'm not having acne, however, my skin feels like it's turning into a grease pit. It is mostly my face, but not just my face. So far it's kind of a nice pro for vaping, but I'm still wondering if its a possible side effect of smoking detox and will it revert back to aging dryness?

I had this item posted on Health, Safety, and E-cigarettes for a full day, however, no feedback. An older post I discovered was short-lived with no general concensus.

Thank you for your experience and thoughts!

I have seen others report an increase in oily skin/acne when they first started vaping. With the exception of one person, who apparently had it only in response to PG, I've only ever seen the issue reported by new members. Since it's most commonly reported by new vapers, I'd guess that you have a reasonable chance that your skin will return to normal in time.

I'm with CES on this. While I didn't experience that particular symtom, there are many things happening in the first few months that went away - a low neck ache, dry mouth - hydrate while vaping - water is good but coffee and juice too if you do them. Right now, 'off cigs' is working so don't change anything - UNLESS symptoms get worse, then consult doctor - check the health forum and consider a possible PG effect, etc. etc.

You may only have oily skin, which has not (yet) erupted into acne, but it is well-known enough to have it's own name, the "Quit Zits."

Read this thread first when you have any questions if something is related to vaping or detox: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hen-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

It is full of good information, including this:

2. The Quit Zits
A common symptom of tobacco withdrawal is skin eruption, in the form of spots through to severe acne even in those who never experienced it when young. The 'quit zits' have no relation to ecigarette use.

The bad news is that in some cases these eruptions last for months, for some who successfully stop smoking cigarettes (whether or not e-cigarettes are used). There has been some experimentation to see if various e-liquid ingredients may exacerbate the condition (such as PG or flavorings), as some e-cig users have questioned this, but without any solid results.

I suspect your overproductive oil glands are related.
