What mod are you using? Like @Foggy Road says, you technically can as long as the manual says it has passthrough charging, but @Txaggiesaunt is right too - it's better not to.

If you have a replaceable battery mod, it's always better (safer) to use a good external charger. Xtar and Nitecore make reasonably-priced, good quality chargers. Batteries aren't that expensive, so you can get a few so you have one to vape with while the others charge.

I think I remember you saying that you have a Pico.. so yup, not an issue.

Most modern mods (last 2-3 years) have passthrough and can charge batteries just fine but many are still stuck in the dark ages and believe the old tales of mods not charging batteries correctly.

Some models of mods may have quality issues and have several issues, so you should always look reviews and information about your mod just to be sure, but I've yet to see any bad stories about bad charging with mods in a very long time. Lots and lots of people ranting about it, but actual issues, not so much. I usually see mentions of some mods being overall bad ones, mostly 510 pins failing, crappy/cheap internal wiring, buttons not working any more, screens going black, people doing bad things (like dropping it several times) and blaming the mod. But charging issues, nope..

Check your manual. If it lists "Passthru" as one of the mods features then your good to go.
No modern mods have true passthrough vaping. The current provided by usb simply isn't high enough.

Many devices have "vape-while-charging" capabilities, and often refer to this as "passthru" even though it's not. The true test is, does it work off USB power, without a battery in? If no, then it's not true "passthru." While vape-while-charging might technically be possible in a lot of situations, it's not usually recommended if you can avoid it.

I often vape while charging. I believe the way it works is when you press the fire button the mod momentarily disables the charging function until you let off the fire button. I think the consideration would be heat. Both discharging and charging generate heat. Now you have both heat generators going constantly. I do MTL with temp control at reletively low power. The combination of my vaping and charging does not appear too create significant heat. Others may have a different experience.

You'd be hard pushed to take the battery out of the iJust range, it's integral
