My mod needs 3 batteries to power up, is it safe if i use 3 different coloured batteries to power it up?

Be sure you use cells with a sufficient CDR to support the power range you intend to use.
Best to use matched & married sets.
All cells identical, bought from the same place at the same time, keep them as a set so they have the same number of discharge / charge cycles.

Best is best, but as long as the batteries have the same amperage and output it should work ok. What you don’t want to do is use a high output low capacity battery with a low output high capacity. It will still work but you will get the worst of both worlds and it’s not great for the batteries

Sounds like you need some education about batteries. :)

All batteries are not created equal and just because two or three batteries are labeled 18650, does not mean they have the same capabilities, characteristics and safety features. The fact that your batteries are different colors suggests that they could have different capacity (mAh), different amp limits (continuous discharge rate), maybe even different chemistry (ICR, IMR, INR).

Will they work in your mod? Probably.

Is it ideal to use them together? Not knowing their individual specifications, probably not.

Is it safe? Impossible to say not knowing the specifications of each battery. So, the only answer is no.

Best is best, and that means 3 identical cells, bought at the same time, from the same (reputable) vendor.

Honestly, as far as batteries go, there is BEST and everything else has the potential to be OMG NOT AT ALL GOOD. And yes, potential is POTENTIAL, but I achieve my potential all the TIME and not always in a good way.

If you can, please use a slightly polygamous marriage? Pretty please? It's not illegal with batteries at least.

Welcome to ECF!

Your question was answered by @Topwater Elvis and @Baditude

Good luck... just remember to buy batteries from reputable battery wholesalers such as IMR or LIION, and use Mooch's blog to determine which batteries will best suit your needs.

Ask questions all you need. Beware bad advice. Batteries are one of the most important components of your vaping, give them the respect they deserve.

Yes, but only if they are primary colors. Solid primary colors, some writing on them is ok but for god’s sake NO DESIGNS. Not unless you have a death wish. My hopes in writing this information is that we don’t lose another vaper to those damn secondary colored batteries with designs on them, especially the ones with flames, sick .......s.

Disregard any and all information expressed above
