Is it worth it to track down blank cartos to order?

Just curious... after a few mishaps, I'm not really having any trouble washing out or refilling cartos, and by the time I order blanks somewhere I'll prob have a stash of clean, empty cartos. & since the new flavs in V4L tend to come in cartos first (from what I can tell) it seems like ordering pre-filled is just as good a deal... get one use of what's in there, and then have a suitable "blank".

But I'm brand new @ this still so maybe there's something I'm missing...

So far I've only refilled the pre-filled cartos with the same flavor, which has worked great. I haven't tried washing them out thoroughly (i.e. vodka or Everclear bath) to try refilling with a different flavor, so I can't say how well that works. I've been using blanks to fill with other flavors. I have a pretty good inventory of once-used cartos to try, though.

I do the exact same thing. I order cartos I'll enjoy then just refill them with whatever flavor I want when they are done. I hear very strong flavors like mint or menthol do not wash out as nicely, but so far no issues for me! If the flavors are compatible I don't even bother rinsing them out unless they need it.

Omg omg! You are getting different colored blanks in?!?
You have made my wish come true :) Will be so nice to be able to identify home mixed at a glance rather than reading tiny labels.

can you use vodka to clear out cartos? i saw people talking about doing that with attys and the 3 piece models. :hmm:

tbh the ones i've washed out with water & refilled with other flavs are pretty good, but they take a while to dry.

Hot water is usually good enough; I reserve Everclear for carts that were originally filled with a flavor I find obnoxious or for those that have developed an "off" taste through overuse.

No need to wait for them to dry. If you blow the water out (mouth on the mouth end), you can refill right away.

I agree with your observation regarding the blank carts. Might as well have the enjoyment of the fresh one, and then refill it. Now, if blanks were fifty cents apiece, or even a dollar, that would be different.

I have a similar question so rather than start a new thread....

The Cowboy flavor I ordered is just too much for me right now, too strong. I have 4 more carts of them. Can I just was them out and fill them with the banana liquid I ordered?

Hi Michelle. Just a suggestion, you could try to trade them on the 'carto swap thread' stickied at the top. I just posted some to trade just cus I'm not fond of the flavors but you could swap yours for a lower strength too.

If you're going to rinse out a carto, it helps to get as much juice out as possible, first.

After you take the cap & ring out, Blow hard several times through the mouth end. Use a paper towel to catch the liquid that will fly out of the battery end.

I is amazing how much juice you can get out that way. Then do the hot water rinse.
