I have an old 14500 Mini that I bought over 3 years ago. I loved that thing, right up until I bought a Grand less than six months later. Then the mini went into storage. I see that Rob now has the SO rebuild kit up for the minis, and the description implies that it works for the old 14500 as well as the mini 2/2.1. Thus the $25 question is, should I buy it and rebuild my mini?
I'll also need some new batteries, as my handful of AW 14500s are super old. There doesn't seem to be much demand for 14500 batteries, and thus it doesn't look like much has changed in the 3 years since I used 14500s. AW IMRs are still 600mAh and 4A, there's an EFest that's 8C/700mah (but supposedly is really only 600mah and thus 4.8A, with some sources even saying their max continuous discharge is only 3A), and ...? I can't find any other, better 14500s.
