Talk about embarrassing! I took my new 901 with pass-through to show off to my sis, who had one of those smoke everywhere. Man was I going to show her what a deal she missed....NOT!!

Her 6 month old smoke everywhere blew smoke rings around my 901. Even with my pass-through I couldn’t get a vape (bad atty I guess).
My batteries were shot within a month, the new ones aren’t much better, my atty's are bad although they did last 2 months, now my pass-through doesn’t work and its only 2 weeks old.

I have managed to replace analogs with my 901, but have spent any money saved on batts/attys and liquid. I did the research before I started with the 901, and really thought it was the best starter kit for me. I have used 5 suppliers and every order except just liquid has been functified - Items missing, DOA. The suppliers are apologetic and fix the problem, Thank YOU for that, but geesh.

My frustration level is off the charts, as soon as I can get me a huge magnifying glass I'm going to take those dead batts and make my own mod, and figure out how to make my own atty too..cause it appears the liquid is the only reliable product I can find.

If I didn’t have so much invested in my 901, I would get a smoke everywhere, sis isn’t having any problems with hers!

Possible your sis smoked less than you and thus doesn't put as much of a strain on the equipment?

I went through the same battery frustrations w/ my original 510. That's why i have 4 mods and another 2 on order. If money is a concern there are people here who will make you a nicostick for about $25.00 and it will blow those 901 batteries away. You will save money using the 14500 batteries you get for $2 instead of the 901 batteries that last about 1/20th of the time but cost 5 times as much.

You know, it's posts like this that make me want to skip the KR808d-1 altogether and just order a Chuck with the cartomizer adaptation... sure it's more expensive than a starter kit, but there are so many advantages... cheap batteries... long battery life... large vapor output (because it's better to have a large cloud, and not need it than to need a large cloud and not have it)...

I dunno... it's tough to tell. I'm not the type who likes to screw around with my gear, so I'm seriously considering it...

Yeah, get a mod to save money. Chucks and Xhaler are only $75 and will last forever. $2-4 for a 2 pack of batteries that last at least 1,000 charges and attys from heaven gifts are 5-6$. I got frustrated as well, and ever since I got mods, Im one vaping machine!!!!!!!

I wish you the best of luck and as you know, theres a plethera of info on here to find the right model for you.....

:)

Thanks to Crashtestjeep, I went back to the Nhaler site and checked out the Xhaler... the first time I was on their site, I hadn't considered getting a big-battery mod... and WOW! Very cool unit... and the site is easy to shop, so this one is tops on my list right now...

The only thing I'm wondering is if there's a good 5-volt unit available... seems like Xhale and Chuck take either a 3.7v or two 3v's... and from what I've been reading, the 5v vape seems to be the "baby bear, just right" I'm looking for... I don't want to have to worry about frying cartomizers with the two-3v's

Off to do more research...

I've been toying with my 510 a ton trying to get the perfect vape. Tried different cart fillers and couldn't find anything that I liked, so I'm back to direct dripping. I love direct dripping, but can't really make it to work without them running dry (~25 min ride). I also have a few atties that taste really burnt after soaking them in mouth wash, washing them out, and drying them. I'm going to give them a vodka soak tonight and see how that goes, but I'm a bit frustrated as well. Ordered some new atties, since I probably messed up my original ones with my various mods. The new ones are great, but I'm still trying to restore the old ones.

My USB passthrough from china just crapped out on me after a month of vaping. One of the wires split where it meets the battery, so I'm back to juggling batteries all the time again.

I'm going to place an order for a Chuck in the next few days. Just trying to pick out a design/color combo that I like.

Karl,
The Xhaler from Nhaler does 3.7v, 5v, 6v and 7.2v. One unit that does it all. You need to make sure that you get the correct batteries and chargers though. Nhaler sell a kit (not in stock at the moment) that comes with the correct batteries and chargers. Just keep checking the site for availability.
Last thing is that you need to check out the cartridge mod section. Look into the blue foam product at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-foam-plug-updated-v2-0-slug-search-over.html

You will be all set!
