I have been adjusting the voltage and wattage of my MVP today and its been pretty sweet but when I do the ohm reading it reads at 1.8ohm but my coil is a 2.1ohm dual coil. The tank I am using is the iclear 30. As far as I can tell it has always read at that level. Does the vv/vw settings have an effect on the coil reading? Also, I know everyone has their own sweet spot for vv/vw but is there a range I should stay at with a 2.1 coil?

thanks!

You could always check your coil with a multimeter, if you've got one available?

Unfortunately I dont :( That is one of the reasons I went with MVP 2.0 based on a review.

the coils ( premade) aren't exactly precision devices... Ive had Kanger coils marked for 1.5 ohms but actually were 2.2.... sometimes the manufacturer messes up.

What is interesting is that when I bought it I had the sales person explain it to me (didn't understand it at the time) but he put the coil on and did the reading...and I guess he either didn't care or notice it. Oddly enough I went to another one of their locations because they were out of Boba's and had another person explain everything to me again (still didn't really understand everything) and she also did not catch the different reading. I'm really hoping its just the coil and not the device. So far though everything tastes and works great with exception to this.

I run my MVP at 11 watts with a 2 ohm Aerotank with cotton wicks.

I just tried running it at 11 and i was getting some burnt tasting vapes. I'm using 100% VG right now. 8.5 seems to be the "sweet spot" for now.

It's close, but gives you more of a close range. Also coils tend to get gunk on them but ohm's will usually increase.

I have an MVP 2 and tested it with a carto tank and a kayfun lite plus v2. Using a cheap 20 dollar ohm meter on the mvp carto tank says 1.8 on meter says 1.92 on meter.... kayfun is .9 ohms on mvp and .096 ohm's on meter.

cloupor dna30 shows 1.0 ohm for kayfun and also 1.8 for carto tank.

Stock coils tend to only be around what they state they are, rather then be spot on. I wouldn't worry about it. The MVP has always given me pretty accurate readings for ohms. More accurate then my current ohm reader actually. My current reader is jumping around on it's reading lately. I need a new one, which sucks because I just got this own a few months ago.

agree with the above replies. If your coil gets jarred in any manner it can change the resistance. Gunky juice can affect resistance. There are many factors. The torque you use to screw in your coil can effect it. Going down in resistance is better than going up- you get a warmer and tastier vape:vapor:

the iClear 30 I dropped (while on another battery) on my MPV runs at 2.2 (and I probably need to clean it out, it's got a thicker juice) and the other one (that came with Ed's he calls them "POSes" "P-piece, "O"-of ...well you get where I'm going with that) the draw is harder but it's a tank for now until I get more Mega's and I only have four Pro2s (insert "poor neglected baby" comment in here when I say that at home) *lol* BUT the lighter juice and non "dropped" iclear runs at 2.0.

I've noticed that when I start vaping in the morning my 1.8 coil may read 1.9 after vaping through 4 or 5 cups of coffee (close to chain vaping but not quite) my VTR will be a tiny bit warmer and my coil will read a little lower. like 1.6 or 1.7. I can change devices and it will read the lower reading so I know it's not the device.

MY MVP 2.0 is about 6 months old used the whole time until I got a Nemisis. I now have a Russian 91% and a Kayfun clone and now the coil read different for the two tanks. I have been afraid the deice was failing cause I could not get the mini Protanks I had to stop leaking. But now I know it has to be the tank even though I can tell the battery also does not last me all day like it use to. Of course I am vaping lower resistance these day> Having said all that keep reading here. The guys and gals that have been at this a lot longer than I are great to learn from. Happy vaping.
