Amazing video. Disclaimer, I don't even like apple products, but I respect their marketing. The interesting bit is from about 3:00-6:00 min.

ProVape markets their products the same way Apple does. ProVape bases their product promotion on the belief that they make the safest, most durable mod on the market. Their customers are people who are looking for the safest, most durable mod on the market. :D They will always have a market for their product as long as they don't lose sight of that vision. Judging by the owners' remarks during the PBusardo tour of the ProVape facility, PBusardo's comments during his P3 reveal, and ProVape's own sneak peek video, that vision is front and center in any decision made at ProVape.

did you even check before replying?

PBusardo's number of suscribers is 77,434.

Rip Trippers' number of suscribers is 154,953

nothing against Phil (or Rip), but at least look before commenting.
.
Those are meaningless numbers.
How about total number of video views? I'm not a subscriber to either one, and most watchers probably aren't either.

Edit: I watch RiP when I need to know how to build a coil, but I watch Phil when I want to watch a review. It's like comparing apples to oranges when you look at it like that.
If you removed the coil building videos and just left reviews of vaping hardware, Phil's numbers probably destroy RiP's.

Provape has said this desire for higher wattage devices does not represent the majority of vapers

Provape has a problem.

1) the "majority of vapers" won't be their customers, not when they're selling $200+ devices.

2) the people who are willing to pay that much are the same people who at least want the option of going above 20w.

upping their wattage to 30w-40w will be much easier than cutting the P3's price by 70%.

that would be great reasoning from Innokin or Kanger, though ("majority of vapers").

there likely isn't a better metric than subcribers. when it comes to views, subscribers are more consistent than non-subscribers.

by the way, did you check before replying?

the views for each of their last six videos, Rip on the left and Phil on the right.

"Provape needs to start to listen to the consumer and not try to force their ways."
...For the last two years and right up to the announcement of the P3, the threads were full of "If ProVape would just come out with VW, I'd buy it." This from hundreds of people on ECF. A quick perusal of many "What do you want to see in a Provari 3" threads will show that ProVape followed many of the customer's suggestions. About the only one they didn't follow was the request for high wattage and low sub-ohm capabilities.

There is no doubt in my mind that ProVape could change a line of code and have their P3 run at 50 watts if they choose. They have a 32 bit ARM processor in that thing, for Pete's sake! It will be another 4 or 5 years before China puts anything near that capability into their VV/VW mods.

As for "proprietary connections," it's obvious ProVape wants to lead the way for vapers to break free of the weak, crappy, voltage-loss prone 510 connection standard and give us a more robust and durable standard. Who else has the market penetration to do it? China won't. They don't innovate, and the 20x1 threading you mentioned is hardly universal. I know of the Senio dripper and the GP Heron that use it...and maybe one or two other drippers.

"The minimum standard for high price regulated devices is 30 watts." According to YOU. A few months ago, you probably would have said that the minimum standard was 20 watts, and that didn't seem to slow ProVari sales down at all, even though the ProVari 2.5 is only a 15 watt device. I think the "Hot Shot" feature will offset many of the P3's perceived shortcomings to high wattage vapers...and even if it doesn't, cloud chasers are not their target market anyways.

Not sure you have much here considering Provape has taken almost 1.5 years to release a product that doesn't even have a functional competitive advantage against current products. Sadly they are a year too late.

Point is these guys have had plenty of time to release something that takes their products to the next level and are coming up very short. A new menu, proprietary adaptors and power output lower than a cheap china clone doesn't justify calling it a V3.

Is it a nice device? Yes and used to be my recommendation to someone starting to vape -until DNA30 devices flooded the market.

I can't help but feel underwhelmed by the preview.

Edit: Also, that BS about only initially selling through their dealers is downright insulting to its loyal customers. It baffles me, after all it is THEY who made Provape what they are, not those dealers whom arrived late into the game.... such a lack of respect, go figure .

That thought has crossed my mind. Actually, it crossed my mind when they came out with the Dragon on the same arrangement. I do own a Provari, and like it quite well. If I ever feel I can afford a spare in the full size, there isn't a lot in the new features that would tempt me out of the speculated new pricing.

For all the sub ohm kids and Rip fans.

If you don't want a Provari - don't buy one.

Provape know their corner of the market and they've targeted it perfectly - the P3 is a quality device designed for durability and longevity, they'll sell a huge amount of 'em

You guys like vaping at a gazillion watts - most people don't.
Most of us got in to vaping to stop smoking, you guys seem to be missing the point of vaping entirely.

It's not about urinating competitions - it's about not smoking cigarettes.

I could not agree more!!
Provari will not only survive they will thrive Quality never goes out of style and compared to whats out there Provari is top Quality!

I see the parallel more like Apple sticking with 3.5" screens on their phones for so long -- they lost some customers to Android simply because they refused to make a phone with a bigger screen for so long.

Personally, I think the wattage race is absurd. I'm vaping a DNA-30 bottom feeder at the moment -- at 15.5 watts.

Also, my guess is that "HotShot Boost" will make it feel like a more powerful device than the 20 watt spec indicates.

This is going to get a ton of hate, but to me a Provari is basically a bigger eGo spinner.

The Sigelli 100w is catering to a huge market. Want ultra battery life? Put a good clearo on it and vape at 10 watts. Want slightly more vapor? Set up a genny with mesh wicks and up it to about 25 watts. Want big clouds? Wrap a 0.2Ω dual coil dripper and up it to like 60 watts. Beautiful. Want massive clouds? Up that biotch to 100W.

With the new V3... you can run clearos, basically. A single coil genny or a KF. That's what you are limited to.

So yeah, I think a blackberry vs android comparison is good. The PV does what it does well, but is pretty limited. Higher wattage chinese boxes are more like android. They do everything PV does fairly well, and does all kinds of stuff a PV won't do at all.

EDIT: And it irritates the hell out of me that people are calling subohmers kids or whatever. I'm fully an adult and spent hundreds of dollars trying to find a tank that could satisfy my cravings. Never did. Finally ended up with a TOBH that is coiled at 0.21Ω that actually gives me the vapor I need to stay off cigarettes.

Call me names if you want, but subohmers aren't kiddies that you get to look down on, anymore that I get to look down on people who are willing to spend $200 on a mech that is only $200 because the hobbyist manufacturer only makes 20 of them.

We all have a favorite design and size for the mod we buy. I'll jump for a larger tube mod if battery life is sufficient. I don't need a 26650, but my lower level choice is 18650.

This poll says that by far the favorite format in a mod is one that uses an 18650 battery

I can't quote 2 post but the guy who said he has 4 innokin devices working for years is either lucky or lieing. I almost never heard of an SVD or mvp2 lasting more than a year at most with regular use. I have an mvp that didn't break because I used it about 30 times total. I'm done with the thread and sub forum in general il stay to my provape and reo sub forums where logical people reside.

Why on earth would I lie or lieing as you spelled it. I have 3 Innokin VV3's and one MVP 2. 2 of my Innokins are almost a year old and they all work fine. I never said I owned them for years. You need to reread a post before replying. You do realize they are throw away mods? BTW if you wish to do multiple quotes use the button on the right side. With that said go enjoy the threads you follow. I hope you spell better with your logical people.

Ummm... We don't know that yet - on so many levels. 'Cause no one has... actually bought one. In-house testing only takes these matters so far. "sell a huge amount of 'em" - totally unknown.

The Iphone 6 isn't out yet - no one has bought one of those either but I get the feeling they may sell a 'few'.

Of course they'll sell a huge amount of P3's - it's a new Provari.
Of course the Sub ohm crowd won't want one but the folks who don't use terms like 'biotch'
will practically line up for one.

As one poster wondered, I don't know why people here get so worked up in any thread where anyone writes something that doesn't heap praise on Provape/Provari. It's an inanimate device people! Moses didn't haul it down from the mountain.

Having said that I do feel that Provape has incorporated some very good features into the P3 and the device will be a commercial success. Personally I've never been compelled to go past 17W and likely (I can't see into the future) never will. I couldn't care less about sub-ohming or cloud chasing but that's me. For me (!) Provape has now incorporated some of the features I've always criticized them for not having.

Another poster made an analogy to cars - there is no one single car for the masses and I doubt if there will ever be one pv alone for the masses. Manufacturers very often develop products for target markets rather than attempting to produce a one size fits all product. And no one yet knows what the P3 will actually sell for. So far it's all speculation.
