got my pv's and juice in about a week ago and getting used to to the vaping. got kits for a couple family members and we all have noticed a slight to moderate scratchy throat. ego drips and tanks with 4 or 5 dif. tobacco juices with 2 being menthol. varying pg/vg mixes 25/75,50/50 and 75/25. some 18ml and some 24ml nicotine. reading others dealing with this but to cut to the chase can anyone explain what the cause and fix to this is, please? kits and e juice from The vapor room. will be getting more flavs from backwoods tommorow. i myself am dealing with it ok and explained to others that it does not keep getting worse but kind of a steady agrevation. thanks in ad. for any help.

Put down that damn PV. Stop going to bed with it still between your lips. Your probably vaping like a steam engine in your sleep.:vapor:

I had issues with pg and some flavors. Was like I hit some ickey stickey stuff if you know what I mean. Find a different vender for liquid or talk to some one who has different liquid that maybe works. I found also the attys can be pretty harsh to thats why I switched to carts on the ego instead of a tank.

how big of a factor is the pg and if vg is the answer why do they use pg?

Everyone doesn't have an issue with PG. I don't. I can't vape high VG, I get a heavy feeling in my chest. Lots of symptoms go away. Or just drink water. Or increase the amount of VG in your juice. The issue with VG is, it's very thick and tends to clog up cartos faster. Some people say they don't have an issue with it. It also reduces flavor somewhat and reduces TH.

If you have a ratio of both, you'll get longer use out of your cartos. Juice won't be too thick or too thin, you'll get a nice TH and lots of vapor.

Some people find it irritating but less than 10% of people have an allergy to PG. Probably the same as with VG since it's a plant product. If you have an allergy to soy or nuts, some juice suppliers say not to use all VG.

Edit: If I had food allergies, I'd probably watch out for flavorings.

If you do have an issue with your juice, there are always options to fix it.

There's a definite learning curve and your body does go through some weird changes. Just don't put a lot of pressure on yourself. Relax and enjoy vaping. Eventually you'll find you like vaping better than smoking. It doesn't always happen over night. I didn't even think I was going to quit smoking. Slowly, less and less cigs until I was vaping full time.

Reminds me of Twain when he said, "As an example to others, and not that I care for moderation myself, it has always been my rule never to smoke when asleep and never to refrain when awake." Just substitute "vape" for smoke and there you go.

To the OP, I've been vaping going on two months now (both 80/20 PG/VG and 100% PG and mostly 18mg). I had a wee bit of scratchiness for the first week after giving up tobacco and going to vapor completely, but I'm not sure if that was due to vaping or to tobacco cessation. The only trouble I have now is dry mouth if I don't drink water (or in my case unsweetened decaf iced tea) continuously while vaping. So, I guess I'll just say ditto on the hydration thing. Seriously! Gigantic volumes of water!
