is the 510-T a good first time setup?

I would like a fairly long lasting battery and USB charge for my car would be ideal.

I saw this starter pack at a site:

Joye 510-T Starter Kit | Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit | E Cig Kit at LiteCigUSA

for $44.95 but I am unsure if this comes with any "tobacco" -

if someone could clarify that for me.

Also, they say not to use certain kinds:

"Please do not use with VG, or VG mixed liquids as they do not wick very well in the tank system"

So if someone could point me to the kind I should use for this.

Also, re: USB do I need to get the "passthrough" manual usb (510 high voltageManual USB Passthrough) or just the "USB charger" (Joye 510 USB Charger) ?

If there is an obvious better route or a better/cheaper site to order through I'll take any advice

Most people will tell you to skip the little 510-t and go for an Ego (or kgo or epower) for your first vaporizer. As a 510T owner I can tell you that it didn't take long for the limitations with it to become apparent to me, although it did get me through the first week.

If you really must have something that looks like a cigarette, that is one of the better ones to go for (or the volt, &etc.) Personally, if I had it all to do over again, I would have purchased the Lavatube ( or torpedo or yada yada yada) and a bunch of ce2's straight away and been done with it, but I like to fiddle with things due to my nature. Many people will recommend a screw off mouthpiece (stardust (?)) because you don't need a syringe to fill it like you do with the CE2's. I don't mind the syringe fill, but I carry 8 different cartos with me at all times, so I may be an edge case. Still that is an advantage. One thing to note, is that if you do get a lavatube, you will need to get a 510/510 adapter to use the ego tanks on it.

Also, I'm not a lavatube fanboy by any stretch of the imagination. As a device it does have certain limitations that are overcome with devices such as the Provari and the Darwin. However I can mess with the voltage far more simply than with the Provari, and at less than 1/3 the price of the (Out Of Stock) Darwin. If money was no object, I would get both the LT and the Provari. Use the LT as a backup and to find the sweet spot for each juice and cartridge, and the provari to vape it.

I second Vitos suggestion. Skip the 510-T
If you want something simple, and you aren't absolutely stuck on the cigarette lookalikes, check out the e-Power. It comes in 2 versions. One uses a 16450 sized battery that'll last you a whole day. The other is fatter, uses a 18650 battery and could easily last 2 days. Two batteries are included in a kit, with a charger. You won't need to worry about a USB or a passthrough when your batteries don't die on you.

The good thing about the e-Power is that the batteries are replaceable. You don't need to carry two kGos/eGos with you and when they die, as all batteries do, you just replace a $6 battery instead of replacing the entire unit for $15-20.

An entire kit, including 2 batteries, a charger, cartomizers (cartridges), and a case will run about $45-50. You can use any number of cartomizers, tanks, etc with it and there is no restrictions about the kind of juice you use or where you get it.

Passthroughs are really only useful when your battery is too small to last as long as you want it too. A bigger battery, especially an 18650 size, eliminates any need for a passthrough. If you're on a very long road trip, you can always get a charger that works in your car. They're cheap.

Love my KGO and it goes all day with my dctv2 cartomizer but the more experienced will probably have better advice ... I just didn't think I was ready for a mod.... Yet :)

I've been vaping a while, and have a half dozen mods, some 510 slim batteries, 808 Volt batteries, and a few eGo batteries that I bought over a year ago. And they still work fine, and have a place in my vaping stash...:) They are far from my everyday vape now, but with a 2.0 ohm vision for a quick trip to the store, they still server their purpose very well.

I've been using the 510-T for a couple of months, and I've been happy with it. However, the battery life isn't great. I don't like the standard batteries at all. I use the megas exclusively. Also, you do wind up refilling the cartridges alot. It bothered me at first, but it's easy and now I'm used to it so I use it as an opportunity to change out the flavors I'm vaping. The standard charger they come with works just fine for me in the car. I think most people use the USB passthrough if they're vaping at their computers for long stretches of time. Also, I vape an 80/20 PG/VG mix and haven't had any problems with my attys yet. And the Joye 510 t's do look pretty sharp  I guess it just depends on what you're looking for.

I used the Blu kit from Walgreens for about a month before I decided I was tired of the cartos not lasting even a half day and refilling them just tasted nasty. I ordered a Joye 510-T and all the juices I tried just tasted plain horrible as well. I then ordered some CE2 Ultra clearos for it, they tasted burnt right off. Did the 'stop the seal from choking the wick' mod and WOW, what a difference. Everything I try in there is awsome! I am going to give my Blu to my father in law as he smokes literally about a 100 filterless rollies a day and liked it. I am VERY happy with my 510-T, I also have no interest is getting anything else. I have enough hobbies and don't need vaping to be one of them lol. I loved to smoke cigarettes and smoked for 13 years, the 510-T gives me everything I need and more...now I can smoke in my room while playing WoW and my wife doesn't complain one bit.
