Well they are more popular in the Uk than in US. My problems re 901 are

1 - hard to get manual batteries and if you do, most 901 PCCs don't seem to accept manuals (and even if you did find manuals, they might still have an open hole in the threaded end)

2 - hole in the side of the atomizer can drip juice on your fingers.

3 - 901 cartomizers are hard to find in the US (and the ones I saw had a hole in the side). Some KR808D-1 cartos will work but some need an adapter to get airflow

4 - I have had issues with 901 atomizers - hard to clean because the coil compartment is closed off and the best hole is in the side. And the barrel could twist vs the threaded end and cause some plastic armatures inside the coil compartment to block the air hole in the side (the 901's air intake) making the drag bad

In the US if I wanted to use 901 atomizers, I would buy KR808D-1 manual batteries and use the 901 standard resistance atomizer and carts or drip tip, or use KR808D-1 cartomizers on it. KR808D-1 batteries are real 3.7v slim batteries and the modern manuals are fairly well sealed on the threaded end, so they are pretty safe from being damaged of killed by juice leaks from cartomizers or dripping on an atomizer. A manual battery also lets you control your hit better and makes it easier to get a good hit. What you cannot do is use a scissor grip with 2 fingers to vape.

But if it's your first ecig and you like it you could for for it. Maybe the UK has a better selection of 901 stuff.

I started with a 901. As mini's go, I actually preferred it to the 510 because it produced better flavor. But no mini model is worth the trouble you have with them unless you are a very light smoker (5-6 a day). Otherwise I would stick with a better battery model. Liberty Flights does sell a Riva 901 which should work much better as long as it is a manual battery.

Dormouse, I swear, one of these days you and I are gonna go 'round and 'round! (as they say in the south) lol!
I know, everbody has their own favorite e-cig and thats the beauty of having so many to choose from now, unlike the early days when well, you know. SO, not to self promote, but only to promote the 901- here is my vid review once again for you Patrick. Now, I'll sit back and puff away on my 901/Infinity combo and smile in happy contentment. Ahhhh!

But the OP is in the UK and 901 is more popular there. Liberty-flights.co.uk usually has 901 featured front and center on their front page.

Here - browse the DSE901 section of ECF and see what owners think. I only ever used the atomizers.
DSE 901/b *Mini*

My first 901 atty should be here to try today. Of course that won't do me any good until my KR8s arrive from Japan. I never considered popularity by region, good call. Why do you think it is more popular there?

I have gotten to where the 901 is my favorite atty. I like a 1.8 ohm at 3.7V and I run a 2.5 ohm on a VV. The 1.8 ohm is an IKV atty and you just can't flood that thing unless you're trying. The 2.5s I use are cheapies. I use and empire drip shield with those. I'm no sure I'd like it on a small bat though. I've only used it on mods.
